Newly bought 05 G35x need help about Warning/Indicator lights
Hi
I bought 05 g35x a week ago from a non infiniti dealer. He did a free service my car right after buying it. But even after service, when I turn the ignition key ON without starting the engine, all the warning/indicator lights came on, and all of them went off after few seconds except the following:
1) Engine oil pressure warning light.
2) Battery charge warning light.
3) Service Engine Soon and
4) BRAKE.
But if start the engine they are not coming on.
I thought all the warning lights should go off after few seconds (before starting the engine). When I mentioned this to the mechanic at the dealer, he said the above mentioned lights won't go off, they should not come on while the engine is on. Is it true? Someone please help me. And also my car squeals when I apply brakes. Is it also normal? Please help me. This is my first car ever.

Those lights will stay on if the engine is not running. Think about it. Engine not running so no oil pressure, the alt is not turning so the batt is draining, the engine is not running period, so the check engine light is on, and same with brakes.
When you start the engine, they should all go out. If anything comes on with the engine running, then you have a problem.
So in other words, that is normal.
As for sqeaky breaks...either your pads are getting low, or your pads/rotors are of poor quality.

Thanks Bro,
You eased my pain. So you say its normal and every g35 behaves the same?
I was worrying if I had purchased a bad car. I love my car.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it.
I bugged the dealer, calling him many a times with hell lot of questions, so he asked me to come tomorrow. I am going to see him tomorrow morning. Now that I know, everything is fine with the car, I will just have him check the break pads and replace them if they are pretty bad.
You are the man.
