black side sills/bumper painted?

hello everyone, today i got an estimated from 2 different shops, and both wanted around $600 to match paint the black side sills, and the bottom of both front and rear bumpers. since i know this has been done before, does that price seem right or did anyone pay less. do you think its worth it for 600, much cheaper than the 2g aero kit however. also, seeing as the new 2005's will come stock with the aero kit, do you think the price will drop alot for the 2004 aero kit or even just the new front bumper styles? any comments /suggestions, thanks
Brett

$600 is a decent deal provided the shop does quality work. I had my lowers painted (a bit cheaper) but they still came out nicely. It's worth it imho.

i actually dont have the mud guards at all, i was talking about the 3 or so inch black sill around the entire car at the bottom. it would look much better painted, the 2005's are coming with it painted, actually it looks like they are coming with the aero kit

Re: black side sills/bumper painted?

I've seen prices posted from $300 to well over $600. I was able to get mine done for $515. I was very pleased with the result and have had no problems with the paint chipping. This topic comes up pretty often, do a search on "sill", "skirts", or "valance" and you'll find a lot of posts, including prices paid and experiences in getting the work done. You can also find pics in the rides section. Just find a decent shop to do the work, price is probably dependent on your location, but shop around and make sure that they will remove the sills and bumper parts for painting.
