Dealer Has My G

Dealer Has My G
Took my G to the dealer today to work on the following:
Steering pulls slightly to the right.
Driver's seat pops and clicks.
Popping and clicking in passenger door.
Rattle in rear passenger door (just started).
Sounds like everything will get fixed, although the rear door would not produce the rattle when the tech took a ride in the car. To fix the seat, they are installing a "lift kit". The tech said they had just gotten information about the fix for the problem.
Hopefully all noises go away when I pick it up. I will let you know.
I really miss my car after driving the I30 loaner.

Re: Dealer Has My G
I had the same problem with the driver's seat. The dealer took apart the seat and replaced the rails and the rollers. In addition to the 'loose' and 'rocking' problem, the seat would move smoothly backwards, but would move forward as if it were rolling over small bumps. Long story short, the seat felt tight again and the seat moves in both directions smoothly now.

Re: Dealer Has My G
Okay, I've had my car back for several days now. Here is the scoop:
The driver seat seems to be fixed. No more popping or clicking. Dealer put in a "lift kit".
Still hearing clicking from the right side of the car. Sounds like leather rubbing against leather (door handle, etc.). I really only hear it going over bumps, lane markers or rough road. Dealer said they took apart the door and tightened it down, etc.
Steering still pulls slightly to the right.
Am I being unreasonable expecting there to be almost no sound from the interior? Is there a break-in period for the doors/contact points?
Does your steering track right? Mine really does not pull hard to the right, it slowly heads into the next lane if I take my hands off of the wheel on the freeway. A buddy of mine tried to convince me that since the freeways angle slightly right (water run-off?), cars with sensitive steering will track that way. Not sure if I buy that one...

Re: Dealer Has My G
My G drifts slightly to the right as well. You may want to check your tire pressure and be sure it is the same all the way around. Roads are designed with approx. 1/4" per foot fall for water runoff, so if a lane is 12' wide you would have 3" of fall from the center line to the edge of pavement on a straight section of road. The whole equation changes when you are in a curve as it is "super elevated across both lanes from one edge to the other.

Re: Dealer Has My G
when i went to go test drive the g the dealership had been holding for me, it pulled right too. i wouldn't buy a brand new car that already had a problem with it, so i went to another dealership that day and test drove another g and it was fine. it might just be on some cars that it pulls right, but hell if i was gonna buy that car. that was saturday, and i've got 95 miles on my brilliant silver, sport pkg, premium pkg, black leather g35. it's amazing!

Re: Dealer Has My G
I thought that could have been it, so I buckled the belt, held it, shook it, etc. That is not it. Lately, a pronounced rattle has surface and I think it is coming from the right rear door.
This is bumming me out. I just drop $200+ bucks on detailing crap and I have to hear rattles and clicking every time I drive.
Looks like it is back to the dealer.

Re: Dealer Has My G
That pulling to the right is a common issue with the G. The dealer should be able to fix. As far as the noise in the right rear, you'll have to have someone ride in the back to listen and poke around. Good luck bro...
