so my car got towed yesterday, and after i picked it up ($171 towing + $50 ticket + $11 cab ride), it now sounds somehow lowder. there is a distinct droning sound, especially while accelerating in lower gears. could they have damaged the muffler or something? i looked, but i can't see any damage... going to the dealer monday...

You'll have to inspect the exhaust system closely. Up on a hoist would help. Something has gotten loose or pulled apart.
Assuming it was towed to the dealer, he should find and fix the problem at his expense.

I am thinking the worse...they towed it with the rear wheels down on the ground. Damaged the rear diff.

most likely something broken than being more powerful.

 

nope it's not the rear diff - they towed it by the rear wheels. i saw them from the distance - pulling out with my car in tow... those motherf.ckers... i have yet to go the dealer... no time lately... might do it early next week, get an oil change while i'm there...
