i have 2003 a g35 sedan with a broken right trunk lift cylinder thing

how do i remove this and replace it with a new one? there seems to be a bolt that can be access from the inside of the trunk to remove the lower portion.....but how do i detach the upper portion?

also, im looking online to find a replacement and there are two different type of lift, one is "from 5/02" and the other is "to 5/02".....what does this means? which one do i need?

please help!
