The parking lights blink to let you know that your car is running if you are in the house and look outside.

That's pretty cool that you found you have a remote start. I wish i had one.

Do you have the Intelligent Key...or the regular key setup?

I wish i could find a way to rig a car starter up with the I-key so i only had to carry one remote.

My remote start (which originally came with the car when I purchased it 2 years ago) is a DEI aftermarket remote start. The on/off switch for the remote start is located below the trunk open switch on the dashboard, and similar to the OP I have to hit lock 3 times to auto start the car.

99% of add on remote starts installed are from DEI (Viper). I bet they used the lock trigger of the door cylinder to trigger the remote start. Try cycling the key in the lock cylinder in the lock direction 3 times and I bet it starts. Also when you have the car remote started you can hit the remote lock 3 times to turn it off as well. Do your factory remotes work when you are started with the key? If so you can do what is called remote take over which is put your car in park, remove your foot from the brake(do not touch it again!!!) hit the remote lock 3 times and them you should here some clicks from relays, and then you can take your key out, lock the doors and get a cup of coffee so your car stays warm/cold!!1

Sorry to bring this back but this is exactly what happened to me. Did you ever find out what kind of remote starter was installed? However mine won't start but I think it's because when I bought and programed my key the key in the bypass wasn't programmed. I just need to find it under the dash now!

Yep if you had a new key programmed they generally knock out all keys and program the ones you give them. You should be able to find the box under the dash. It will be about 3.5 in x 5 in x 1 in. Usually has a white plug with 2-5 wires and another with 2-3. It might also be behind the carpet on the side of the gas pedal.

I know this thread was posted a while ago but pretty lucky of you to discover this feature that you didn't even know you had!

I guess not all remote starters flash the parking lots on & off. I have a Viper and when I start my car, my tail lights & clearance lights (those small bulbs inside the headlamp) turn on & stay on steadily.

I have been programming most of the cars I do now with the lights constant. More people complained than not about the lights disturbing neighbors(nosey?).

ya it was a pretty cool find the dealer gave me a bunch of sh*t about it though... i had no idea what it was and neither did they so they were trying to blame my problem on the mysterious wires when really it was completely unrelated! I need to get under the dash this weekend and try and find this thing ASAP!!

Why do you need to find the starter, are you going to remove it?

you can do the remote start with the I-key i will be doing it within the next month. Im going to have an alarm but tie it in with the oem stuff so it looks factory and i dont have to use a remote to lock/unlcok my car, ill just press the button on the door handle or the oem remote

If someone knows of a remote start that works on the I-key i would like to hear more.

I don't want an alarm, or another remote fob. I just want my i-key to also have the ability to remote start if i press two buttons simultaneously or something.
