Hi Folks,

I know this sounds weird. Last weekend I had to relinquish the G, not all bad though. My friend had to make an emergency trip to Brazil. He chose to drive to JFK airport instead of just driving out of our local airport (Pittsburgh). He asked me if he could take my car instead of his because the weather was getting bad. Of course being a good friend, I obliged. I figured I made out on the deal anyway, I got is Red 05 350 Z with a bolt on Turbonetics 60-1 with an external wastegate.

Well, he picked my car up at about noon on Friday while I was at work. When I left work at 5 it had snowed about 2" in the last 1/2 hour. I knew it couldnt be good. As I was leaving work I cam up on a stop sign. While attempting to leave the intersection I left off the brake(5AT), not even a hit of throttle, and I had the TCS on; and I went nowhere. When I finally got out of the intersection I knew I had to get the car home and in the garage quickly. Thats exactly what I did.

On sat I had to pull a 10hr shift at my second job that started at noon; so no fun there, just a couple of pulls on the wet highway.

Sunday I put about 300mi on the car and I was great. The car got great mileage, and was a blast to drive. Since the weather was nice, about 50*, there were a lot of other nice cars about that wanted to flex their muscles against the Z. It was soooo effortless to put them in the rearview. Just peddle through 1st and 2nd, then right foot to the floor

Some not so pleasant things I noticed was that the Z was a lot harder to get into and oul of, and the steering was much heavier than my G.

Anyone with any other input, please feel free

Thanks

Nate

Turbo'ed 350z in snow sounds like death to me... you had some *****... my only question is you didnt notice how much stiffer and "shakier" the Z is compared to the G... i drove my friends stock Z and after was so grateful i got the G ... that car transmits every dam crack and bump..

ya, the 350z sucks as far as comfort. thats why so many get coilovers and upgraded stuff....

but ironically the 350z suspension is what so many G's put on, like me

haha

I test drove a 06 Z with about 20k miles on it and (maybe I'm just getting old) I felt like I was inside a airplane with no sound proofing - maybe at 18-23 I would have liked it, but not as a daily driver.

the best trade was me driving the Corvette powered 350z from GT-Spec... that thing was a beast.

I'm sure you had fun w/ the Turbonetics Z.

My cousin has a 350Z. I've never driven one or been inside one, but when i see him tonight for the family Xmas eve party, i'll see if he wants to let me take it for a spin.

I've driven G35 coupes and sedans (own a sedan obviously) so curious to see what the 350Z is like

im 6'6"... hahha ya that car wasnt for me.. the G fits me perfect if the seat is all the way back and reclined a good amount... i can put my hand outside the rear window and rest it on the drivers window... looks kinda crazy.. but im also comfortable doing it haha

I love the z driven my friends tt and its not the car for me. I feel so safe inside a car i would take that thing to its limits 24/7.

Talk about a heavy wheel, Drove it without powersteering once and started to drifted off the road at 115 on a cerve.
Me in a tt z would end with a beat up car and a tire bill that would force me to sell the car anyway.

I Felt pretty comfortable in the car. I did notice that the steering was much heavier and the ride was much stiffer; but i enjoyed it. My biggest problem was getting in and out of the car, I'm about 6'5" and 300 lbs, I just wasnt made to get in and out of the car, oh well
