anyone ever run 16's

Thinking about this for a winter wheel only setup.

I saw a couple of craigslist ads for 16's with blizzacks for 250$ with like cheap sportmax brand, which are tirerack's $100 rim line. the one owner used it on his 03 RWD g35.

I was wondering if the g35x's can run almost any 16in wheel. 205/65/16 or a 215/60/16 tire. i read somewhere that we have 11-12 in rotors so 16's MIGHT be able to fit.

anyone run these? maybe someone with track wheels with 16's. I dont have brembos nor plan to ever have BBK, plus the price of a 16s are a lot lower then 17's.

I have 16 steel rims (205/65/16) with Blizzaks on my 03 sedan with non-Brembo brakes.

wasn't there a brake upgrade in 05?

what type of 15's were on the coupe. offset and width might of played a role. general width of a 16 i'm assuming is 6.5 or 7.0 with anywhere between +38-48 offset. tirerack doesn't like a 16in option.

You will have problems running 16's on your 05. I tried on mine for a winter setup and couldn't get them to fit. The backs will fit but not the fronts. Our brakes are basically the same size as the brembo's of 03-04 so your pretty much stuck with a 17" as the smallest for a winter setup.

The brake upgrade for the x came in 06, not 05. From the FAQ thread:
Q - Do different G's have different brakes?
'03 and '04 Sedan, '04 and '05 Sedan X
Front: 11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch X 0.6-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'05+ Sedan and Coupe, '06 Sedan X
Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons
Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Non-Brembo Coupes
Front: 11.65-inch x 0.94-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Coupe Brembos
Brembo® brakes
Front: 12.76-inch x 1.18-inch power-assisted - 4 pistons
Rear: 12.68-inch x 0.87-inch - 2 pistons

I would just arrange to meet with the guy, take a front wheel off (front brakes are larger) and try to fit the wheels he is selling on your car. Let him know, if they fit and are as advertised, you will be buying them and I am sure he will not have a problem with this arrangement.

'05 X's have 11.6" front and 11.5" rear brakes

in '06, they werent to 12.6 front and 12.1 rear on the X. Those brakes were available in '05 on the RWD models.

So an '05x can run 16" winter wheels, but 06x need 17's.

'05x's can run 16's for the winter. I'm running 205/65/16's on OEM Nissan 16" steelies (hub-centric). Got them from the dealer and they fit perfectly.
