I had the same problem... opened it up when changing the cabin filter and found that the finds were slightly rubbing against something every so often (that every so often is really fast as the fan spins fast)... sanded it down a little and now it makes a lot less noise but still same.
(i'm out of warranty ). Oh and I have the dual climate controls as well.

Though I wouldn't find it terribly expensive to pull one from a wrecked car if you manage to find one. It's not hard to pull it yourself if you know where to find it.

Hey I have the same problem, I took it to the dealer and they are changing the blower motor, it has been happening for the last 2 winters, and they finally can hear the sound now.

Was it replaced under warranty?

If not how much did it cost?

Thanks

At the dealer I would guess it's easily twice that price installed.
How many miles on your car?

I noticed it about this time a year ago (at about 50K miles) and thought nothing of it. Of course I was out of the warranty by time (6 months). I only drive 8000 miles per year.

Exactly as you described. Not noticeable at real high fan speeds or at the lowest speed. Fan obviously works but the noise is unacceptable in a 5 1/2 year old luxury car which I bought new, and have always driven gently.

I may try to persuade them that Nissan should extend the warranty because I'm only 9K miles out of it on miles.

Even though you may may be out of warranty on time, you too should try to get them to cover it since your under 50K miles.

Especially if you are an original owner.

Today ambient temperature exceeded 25 degrees. The fan blower "gurgling" noise totally went away. Stopped at selling dealership downtown Chicago, which also now sells Lamborghinis (they actually had more than a few Murcielagos disassembeled and they claim they sell 2 Lambos per week). One tech said its normal for these blower motors to make that noise when subjected to super frigid ambient air.

By the way they quoted $380 plus tax for heater blower repair, claiming part alone is $250.

Apparently the part is distributed through Nissan alone.
