What the heck is up with my headlights???

I am having trouble with my high beams (brights) when my head lights are on and I pull the brights on, the blue light comes on but my brights do NOT turn on. If the headlights are turned off, and I pull the brights on the blue light comes on and the head lights just turn on. If I have my head lights and my fog lights on and I pull the brights on the fogs turn off and the headlights stay on but no brights turn on. Can anyone help me? I don't think the bulbs are bad, its hard to imagine that both brights would go out at the same time....

Well the fogs and highs are a duel filament bulbs, so my guess would be you had an electrical surge while your brights were on and they burned out both high beam filaments. Just a guess.

^You have to remove the front bumper and take the headlights out. This can be done in about twenty minutes.

You just unscrew the fender liner in the front wheels and you can reach in there and take the bulbs out

^^ what he said, you just have to partially remove the liner to replace the bulb. I have PIAA extreme whites for my highs/fog and have no clue how to remove my front bumper, that would be waaaay more work than is required.

the bulb work make the most sense but seeing as how there are 2 ways to activate high beams and only one works (manually lifting the switch) the switch can be the problem. Normally you only see 1 bulb go bad not 2 but anything can really happen.

But either way i would replace the bulb first as it is the easiest to do and cheapest for that matter.

if the brights are burnt out, would the blue "warning light" come on when I turned them on?

yes it will, your car doesnt know when the bulbs are burnt out...only when it activates the high beams.

Like others have mentioned.......change out your fog/high beam bulbs and you should be fine.

either way doesn't matter stock or aftermarket as long as i get my brights back and working. I called a dealership and they asked if I have HIDs or not... and I honestly don't know... does it matter?
