Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

Take it for what it's worth ...

I had the pleasure of attending the SoCal Dyno Day organized by the fine 350Z people at My350Z.com. The event was hosted by Strictly Dyno in Reseda using a DynoJet.

Sorry folks ... NO baseline dyno to show as reference here. Of all the people, I'd thought I would be the last to pull something like this The exhaust upgrade was a rather impulsive buy at the time and came much sooner than expected; before I had a chane to make a baseline run. So don't all into the same trap. Go out there and do your baseline today!

My mods are as follows:
- Fujitsubo Y-pipe
- Fujitsubo Legalis-R exhaust (Sedan)
- K&N drop-in air filter
- Z-tube
- A crude custom velocity stack for the stock air-box

This particular DynoJet appeared to be reading low (by at least 6%). Lots of not so happy campers this day as the result. As a point of reference, the Florida Dyno Day report from just a few weeks ago have stock 5AT G coupes pulling ~227rwhp (in 3rd gear). Here, the two stock 5AT 350Zs both managed an identical 214rwhp (in 4th). Hence the -6% figure comparing the two dynos. While it's not completely scientifc approach, This isn't a completely scientific approach, but a reasonable deduction. Check Here for more details.

My car seems to be running on the lean side until well past 5800rpm.

Final SAE corrected results:
Peak rwHP = 241.6
Peak rwTQ = 235.3

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

Looks good! I'd like to have DaveO take this and overlay it with his other exhausts he has and let us know how the -Fuji (for the sedan) compares with the Stillen, Borla, Nismo, Injen, etc...

Is that asking too much DaveO?

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

Hmmm.... Looks like pretty good gains. I am very interested in the Fuji exhasust you have (y-pipe and exhaust). I looks like from the information you have posted that it made good gains, I don't think you made much with the intake mods, so.... My only plans for the car are the same intake setup (already have), possibly the exhaust and maybe a TS flash.

I may do the Vortech SC at some point, but I am not ready to go that route.

My question, after the dyno, what are your overall impressions of the exhasut, in terms of power, sound and fitment, and would you go this route again?

I would be happy if this exhaust made 10-15 HP, and it looks like it may have.... Thanks for the post.

The aftermarket Y-pipes on these cars are all the same fitment wise, oem too. The mid pipe on the G35 is longer to make up for the cars longer wheelbase

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

I hope to have them on this week, I can take pics of them off, but they are dirty (came off my Z). I had to order wheels to clear the brakes (Enkei RPM2's), and I am waiting on the tires (3 weeks now), they should be here in the next few days and the wheels go on.

I will say I had them on my Z for about a year, and they are great, I thought I read you ordered a set, you will love them. I will also post pics when I get them on (hopefully this weekend, along with the suspension).

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

6MT sedan's typically dyno much closer to coupe's and the 350Z, they normally dyno higher then 5AT sedan's. Here's a dyno thread where a 6MT sedan with a intake and grounding kit, car made 238.7hp. https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...age=&view=&sb=

Here's a 6mt sedan with Crawford pleneum, Z tube, K&N filter, with the premuffler deleted and a Magnaflow muffler as a resonator. 240hp 235ft lbs
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...age=&view=&sb=

Another 6MT sedan with Stillen CAI, Z tube and Stillen true dual exhaust. 235.8hp 237.4ft lbs
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...age=&view=&sb=

Here's the most interesting dyno plot of all, before and after Borla true dual install. Before dyno is with, Crawford pleneum, Z-tube and K&N filter.
Before: 240.2hp 234.3ft lbs
After with Borla TD: 249.2hp 240.48ft lbs

http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...e#Post67700439

We still need someone to do a baseline, then a after dyno for the Stillen TD exhaust.

jran76,
Cool! hope you get your wheels soon. Yes, I did get my brakes, just sitting at home. Too lazy to get them install..

Does anyone know a good Dyno place around O.C.(Socal)..Now, I'm thinkin about doing it this weekend just to see what the Gsedan baseline is.

Re: Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust (Sedan) DYNO result

Cool FX, can't wait to see yours. I had the Aero's on my Z, same as yours (3 piece), but brushed. They are great wheels to show off the Stoptech's.

Gsedan35, thanks again for all the dyno information, you are helping in my decision making process. I am really trying to decide between the Fuji, Stilen and Borla.

Does anyone have the weights of all three, all I have seen is the Stillen is 13 lbs lighter than stock?

Also, one last observation, it looks like the Stillen true dual does add a little more TQ, most likely due to the X-pipe....

Thanks for all the information in this thread, keep it coming.

Reggie,
Yes, definitely do a baseline! I'd be interested to see what you'd end up with post the Fujitsubo mods.

I really thought it was wierd that my numbers were 1/2 hp higher than yours not 20 minutes later and I have straight pipes and a crank pulley. That dyno was wierd!!
