What service do I need?
What service do I need?
Hello,
I got my 03 g35 about 5 months ago it had 67k. Now it has 70k and i would like to know what kind of maintance does it need. I don't know what the previous owner did to the car before I got it. I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks

You can start by calling up the service dept of your nearest Infiniti dealer and ask to pull up the service history done to your car. All they need is simply the VIN of your car. All dealers keep track of service histories in a national database.
You can also refer to the service manual in your car (should be in your glove compartment) for your maintenance needs at your mileage. If you don't have one, you can download one at this site (http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...s.php?catid=28). You need to register before download (it's free).

Lexusk8 is right, as usual. At 70K you're looking at:
-Tranny fluid change (flush will not harm it tho)
-Coolant flush and change
-Air Filter change
-Belt change
-Consider new plugs and make sure they check for oil pooling or oil on the threads of the plug (has been an issue on some cars)
- have them look closely at rotors
- cabin filter change
- clean out throttle body and plenum (if desired for the plenum)
- differential fluid change
- brake fluid-- only if it looks dirty. Mine looks new at >60K
- Consider moving to synthetic oil (German Castrol, Amsoil, etc.)
- there may be more others can add to. Good luck.
Total cost at dealer >$650 usually: at good local repair shop who knows what they're doing, <$500.
