Stupid Question

I know this is a stupid question but I am going to ask it anyways. Is there anyway to tell by just looking at a G's headlights if it has HID or non HID lights...

you talking about the housing or the actual lumens of the beam?

if you're talking about the actual light beam, i think it's pretty obvious if it's real HID or not.

you can't tell from just the housings.

Look at the bulb, if it has a wire running to the tip of the bulb, its HID

HID will have D2R written on the bottom of the housing

Yes you can.

Look at the bottom of the lens. It will have D2R if it's HID and H1 if it's not.

Optional on 03.5s - had to buy the premium package.

I think it is an option on 2004s also, at least on the X. If it has the premium package that adds the auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink and Automatic HID headlights. And maybe seat memory and reclining rear seats too.

When it starts up, does it get bright and blue then dim down to a yellowish color? Or does it just turn on like a regular light bulb?

does it involve nudity?

Headlights are about the only part of the car I haven’t given much attention to... I'm certain 2% of my effort would give me 100% of what I need to know... but I've had too many other projects for the car that has taken way more time than I ever expect - so headlights get ignored - for now...
