Alright. I've decided on a G35x. Now, what color should I get? This car will be driven all winter and the roads are covered with salt up here in VT. I like the lighter colors but am not crazy about the black lower portion of the car as an offset. Does the Desert Platinum look good? How about the Silver. Any help would be appreciated.

white is a big pain in the *** to keep clean but looks nice

 

I have a G35 sedan in silver with the black leather interior. It looks pretty good and the color helps hide the road grime.

 

I'd agree with previous post. I originally wanted G in black, the best color imo. But after having read multiple threads about quality of paint on our cars I went for silver. It has proven to be a very practical color. I have a few dings now and you cannot see them as vividly as it would have been on darker colors on top of that when the car is dirty as a pig it is barely noticeable.

The Desert Platinum is a nice color and it does hide dirt very well. (That's what I have.) But, I would get the Diamond Graphite, with the Graphite interior. Wish it was available on the 2003.5!!!!

In my opinion, G35 looks better in darker colors. Hands down, it looks the best in black, but the color is high maintenance for sure. Therefore, I went with a perfect compromise, which is Diamond Graphite. It's dark enough to make the G look good, but it hides blemishes real well. I can go for a month wihout washing it. Silver looks too plain.

 

Here's another vote for Diamond Graphite exterior and the Graphite interior. My wife and I saw quite a few color combos on various dealer lots and this, to us, seemed like the best. Black and black was our second choice [though we too worried about the high upkeep of a black exterior].

 

I went with the Diamond Graphite/Graphite as well.

Only complaint (and a small one at that) is that the pillars and canopy are tan rather than the same dark grey/black. The interior reminds me of a pint of Guinness with a big head on it.

 

Black/Black bar none is the best on both the G35c and sedan.

On the sedan is REALLY helps because there are black moldings all around the car, and with black it just looks sharp.

the best color besides black would definetly be diamond graphite..only if they had that wen i bought my car..errr

Not biased, but I really do think black looks best (ext.), but it is the hottest. However, if I lived in the NE (which I wouldn't since I grew up in that cloudy, gray weather and have lived in sunny, S. FL since '87), I think I would get either White, Silver, or Graphite. Black is absolutely the most difficult to take care of; whomever said white was hard to keep clean must live in a "mudpond" because white definitely shows the least dirt.

I used to have a couple of white cars and I could get away without washing them for a couple of weeks. Both my parents have white Lexus' and I always compliment my dad on how clean his cars are; he always tells me he hasn't washed them in weeks or months. ;-) I have the Willow int. in my balck G35 and I like the contrast of the black/"tan" as opposed to the black/black.

if you don't like the black lower portion of the car, then maybe you can invest in some side skirts or have them painted to match your exterior?

i'm biased towards black, but it is a high maintenance color. there are too many silver (and desert platinumish) cars on the road. if i had a second choice, i'd opt for the diamond graphite. and since it'd be a winter car for you, i'd pick the darker, easier-to-care-for graphite interior (if you don't mind the roof and pillars being willow). good luck with your choice.
