[QUOTE=sizzo718;3990230 I asked the tint shop to cover the entire window meaning all the seats had to be removed in order for it to work. Not my style having the box cut around the light...doesn't look very clean IMO...but that's just me [/QUOTE]

Is this on a sedan?

I had the shop tint over the brake light on the shelf and they didn't have to take the seats out. There is a small gap between the light and window and they just used a card to push it down there.

I agree though, having the cutout for the brake light look silly

Yes it's tinted. I tossed my meter on it and it came up at ~ 78% just like the side windows

So tossing 50% tint on it would give you around 39%

Yup, on a sedan. They said it wasn't possible to tint over the break light without removing everything. I figured they could have used something thin to wedge the tint into place.

Weird. I remember asking the guy about it because I didn't want to have a cutout around the brake light. He looked at it and said "Oh, that won't be a prob i have a tool that will get the tint down in there no prob"

I disagree whole heartedly. I would rather have a somewhat silly looking square, than have an old lady in a Camry shoved up my *** because she didn't know I was braking. I don't know how many times I have said this: Form Follows Function.

I normally see break lights light up on the tails before looking anywhere else. My guess is that an old lady would notice large lights rather then the puny break light underneath the rear window

As you get older, it will become harder to determine the difference between a tail light and a brake light during nighttime driving. That's the whole reasoning behind a 3rd brake light, or "high-mount" brake light.
