I get 23 city and 27-29 highway on 89 octane. Use Mobil1, keep my filters changed, rotate tires, let it eat some Saefoam monthly, and keep the car immaculate.

I'm a careful driver, but I have to be honest, on occasion I love the surge of power (it's not orgasmic, but it works for now!)

2008 Crown Vic/custom black and white paint/custom rooftop led's/custom touch screen computer in dash with 10" monitor/composite rear seat/AR-15 and Remington 870 in custom rack

Illegal....Coming from the guy with the AR-15 in his Crown Vic... What are you some back country, hillbilly, ruby ridge/waco wannabe? Why are you on G35 Driver if you drive a black and white Crown Vic with rooftop LED's? Did you know that impersonating a police officer is illegal too? are you going to try and pull someone over? why do you need "rooftop LED's"???

Sounds to me like you are the one who is the stupid law breaker.

I used to be very diligent about keeping track my mpg for every tank.
Short trips result in 13-14 mpg tops. Had as low as 10. By short i mean 1-3 miles.
My 70/30 work commute gets me around 20 mpg
All highway @ 75 mph, no A/C, cruise control: 26 mpg
Track: 6-7 mpg

I found that cruise control adds about 2 mpg for me. You might have a more disciplined right foot though.

I wondered the same....I use V-Power 100% of the time & have had no issues. I live in MA.

I have 03.5. I have never yet reset the ave. mpg and after 60k I ave. 21.8 mpg. 50/50 city, highway driving. I use synthtic oil, check tire pressure once a month, keep junk out of the car, roll to a stop if I can, use curise control and rarely go over 70mph.

Each day I travel 56 miles (90 km) round trip to work in my g. It is almost a 50/50 split between city and highway. In the city my driving is "spirited", but on the highway I usually set the cruise at 68 mph (110 kph). I routinely hit the 370 mile (600 km) mark and have gotten as much as 430 miles (700 km) out of one tank.

I have experimented with 87, 89 and 91 octane gas and to be honest the gas mileage does not differ between grades (performance differs obviously).

What sucks is I came from an '03 Mustang GT with a V8 and used to get 26-27MPG easily on the highway using 87 octane. Now i have a V6 and barely get 23MPG and use 93 octane

I get 26-28mpg all day long with my 03 5AT (80k miles) during hwy trips cruising at 70mph. 20MPG city on avg.

RWD? What options are on your '03?

Mine is a fully loaded AWD model with Nav, full size spare. It's prob one of the heavier G35 models.
