Suspension and Handling - Sports vs Base vs G35X

I know there have been many discussions over the base suspension vs. sports suspension, the general opinion being somewhere between that the sports suspension is vastly superior to that the base is very good, and sports is excellent..

Automobile magazine did a test a while ago - comparing G35 to G35X - and while both were rated excellent, the awd seemed to be better and the rwd was close. And this seemed to be with the base suspension (non-sports). But no one has done a test with base, sports and awd.

What do you all think? Perhaps brokend down by turn in response, under/over steer, weight transfer?

Sport suspension really isn't that much improvement in handling, there is still a decent amount of body roll and brake dive.

My loaners would do just about as fast as my sport suspension but felt alot looser. the sport suspension is much more "fun". Now the Z suspension actually allows more speed thru the twisties but that is pretty extreme on a G sedan

Re: Suspension and Handling - Sports vs Base vs G3

3point,
When you say the sports suspension is more fun, is it a quicker turn in? Just a generally better feel?

I am trying to figure out if it would be worth putting in either sway bars or different springs on mine. Would appreciate any thoughts.

I drove a FX35 for about 2 weeks and that cornered flatter than the G35 (base suspension) but also felt less tossable and more skittish. The exhaust note on the other hand was pure magic.. I might actually get a stillen or borla if they sound close to that.

Yes turn in with the sport is noticeably better. You feel the road more, every bump.

Infiniti did an awesome job tuning it so you could feel it but it doesn't hurt even after extended periods of time in the drivers seat. (I have two 32 hour stints straight in mine to speak from)

However, I put the Z suspension on my car and took off the sport suspension. That is the way to go if you want performance. But the car does porpoise a bit on rough roads (smooth and normal roads are alright, just the rough ones and construction you have to deal with)

165.00 shipped is what it cost me and next to my tires, was my biggest improvement yet.
