Also some '03s came with halogen headlights.

With the homelink mirror, you also get the autodimming feature as well. Works well, but after tinting my windows i've had to turn it off sometimes just to see cars behind me at dusk without their lights on

Try Flash2Pass instead of Homelink

I decided to install the Flash2Pass system on my base G35 instead of doing the homelink mirror. I am very happy with it so far, and the total cost with shipping was less than 1/2 of the homelink auto dimming mirror if bought new. (About $75 from ebay - Indy Motor Works)

Flash2Pass is a 2 wire module that you hook up to your high beam headlight wire and a ground. When you approach your garage door or gate, you flash your high beams twice and the opener is activated. It took me less than one hour to install. I mounted the module in the battery compartment and ran the wires down the existing harness. The homelink on my i30 and Honda Pilot still function perfectly.

If anyone is inerested I can take pictures of the install tonight and post

I'd like to see pictures of the Flash2Pass install, in particular how and where you tied into the high beam wiring.

Thanks,
Mark

Mine being an 04 6MT didn't come with a homelink but had leather, HID, heated seats and a moon roof. I added the homelink, there is a harness you can get on ebay to plug into the mirror and wire in on the other side.

I have constant and ignition wired over above the glove box with my EDFC, EBC, UTEC Tuner and Gauge controller so I used that. You can run down and tap it into the harness under the steering wheel or fuse box.

Past few years yea. You could get cloth in the first G sedans. G20s came with cloth, older I30s, ect.
