And I've had my share of problems as well. The seats were fixed twice for rocking and now the electronics that move the seat are all teetering on frying and mechanically sound like hell - that results from shoddy dealer work..and then of course the seats are just weak for a big guy like me.

The suspension creaking noise was fixed but now is back - out of warranty so I am just living with it.

I've had the tsb's and recalls but it never bothered me. It's always been worth it. I'd rather have this car long term than anything else that was available in early 2003 when my Passat lemoned on me.

I'm up to 165,000 kilometers on my 03 sedan and the only thing was the 2 rear real bearings that were recently changed. Just ordered the Haynes manual to do some of this stuff on my own.

They're the Bell Works shifters. I ordered them in late January, but I've still got a 4 to 6 week wait left. Only a few places in the US get the parts and they're only allotted so many at a time.

They're plug and play for the most part. Install "should" take about an hour.

Dave you are pushing 100mph in the quarter there bud. Is that the highest Auto time ever for our generation? I need to hear or read more about the rev up airbox. Did you ever post pics of that?

Pretty good, quite a bit of city in that too, actually saw 600 kilometers
to a tank full this week, and the summers are coming on tomorrow..I guess
its the odd rattle in the cabin that should be fixed, my console is loose so
will look into it..overall love the car, always dreamt of the bimmer but
most people on my street after having one then seem to go onto something
else. Plus the wife has got a 2000 323CI....so if I could not get the GT-R it
would be a new lowered G with 328 ponies,thats all I need.

I'm rolling at 54,000 on my 04.. been a pretty solid ride.. only problem I've had was a bad connection on one of the ABS sensors at the wheel that put the car into "safe" mode.. very weird sensation when THAT happened, just as I was trying to accelerate onto I-270.. almost got swallowed whole by the car behind me!?!?

It was all warranty. so that was cool...
