Window tinting gone bad - what can I do?

Here is the story, I took the car to an infiniti dealership for some service work and decided to get the window tinted, figured that since the price is about right and they have the car anyway... Big mistakes...

Since mid Feb, I had the dealership redone the tint 3 times already and looks liked some windows will need to be redone AGAIN for the fourth time.

I am not asking the tint to be 100% perfect, a tiny bubble here and there is fine so I can assure you these are not something minor.

This tint guy doesn't use pre-cut tint, he, thinking himself to be a pro that he is not, does the cutting/trimming free hand. The lines are not cut straight at all.

At this point, I am not happy with the work but I don't want this guy to touch the window again? I certainly don't want to have to pay someone else to do this again and at the same time, the serice advisor is starting to get defensive here. So what should I do? Go to the service manager?

Tell the dealer that you've done this too many times and you either want it done right or have a refund a dealer of all places should be doing a very good job on tinting. This is acceptable from some shady cousin of your cousins friend, but not in a reputable dealership.

Service manager or as high up as you can talk to.

pretty much. if you took pictures of reasons why you had it redone it would make a more valid point. Most places do tint by freehand. Service manger is the highest he can go. the tint is outsourced so its not like its back by nissan or anyplace other then that dealership and its not the entire dealership its just the service department if anything. But mainly its you VS the tint guy. the advisor's job should be either call the tint guy or you can give him the number. Technically its not work done thru the dealership, just because its there. The dealership can step in and be a middle man but they don't have/need to.

this thread sucks without pics... i have to say ive seen(luckily never experienced) any bad tint jobs out there... if the bubbles are able to be pressed out great, but bad cutting... if its REALLY been three times already, i think id say i want my money back adn try a different place. seems clear you dont stand a chance of being satisfied.

damn your unlucky, i got my tints done once with no bubbles whatsoever, and they weren't precut, the guy cut it out on the spot. Go to a local tinting place, they do more cars and are probably more experienced.

3 times? there shouldnt even be a 2nd time. If i were you i would have them refund the money and properly remove the tint because its going to cost you more money if the tint has to be removed by the next shop. Most people freehand the tint its just a matter of skill.

I'd like to see pics as well to gauge what your idea of bad tint is. I've had several vehicles tinted at many shops and never had an issue. I'm sure there are some ****ty guys out there but if the dealer does their work there they must have some kind of customer satisfaction.
