Yea no doubt, if I could drive standard in my city without getting frustrated with all the starts and stops I would have one for sure. Save the extra $1000 or $2000 and get what you really want.
Unless you are also sick of shifting all the time, the automatic is still a lot of fun and has the manual mode for when you feel like looking cool

great car with great reliability. Never had any problems with it in the 3 years of ownership. Normal maintainance with some wear and tear things needed to be replaced after 60k miles. I loved the car and still do. Actually just getting rid of mine to get into an m3, but I will def miss the g

As a sporty luxury car, the G goes well with an auto, and it has a decently sporty auto tranny with rev matching.
If you live in the city with lots of stop and go and it is you DD, get an auto for sure. If you feel like shifting, the tranny does have a 'manual' shift mode.
Maybe save the manual for your second weekend sports car.
