quick question

Not sure what to search for this. but I see a lot of black sedans with the chrome trim around windows and door handles blacked out. I know I have read around here somewhere a DIY or something explained how it was done for cheap and did it their selves. I was wondering if someone could tell me how its done or point me in the right direction to a write up on it.

i believe 2 options are paint or diy with black vinyl (overlay?) that you tuck in with a credit card. the latter is tedious but less costly i have read.

I just went to a shop that makes stickers and purchased a few feet of 3M black sticker material. I only did my handles so far because my trim goes well with my wheels.

Has anyone ever removed the window trim? I want to have mine either powder coated or painted gunmetal to match the wheels...
