Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

Full A-pillar triple gauge pod? yes... but please specify what you mean by "complement the willow interior". it will be made of black carbon fiber.

CF engine plenum cover? we have a very good idea on something for this.

Stock airbox? we also looked into this as well. quite feasible to replace the air induction channel at the center of the car, not the one on the driver side.

CF Z tube? feasible but we would have to cut it off before the "accordian" piece since that part needs to be flexible for when the engine torques. so putting that into consideration, how many of you are willing to pay $150-200 for the just the pipe and then purchase the filter and accordian piece separately?

Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

we looked under the factory bumper and couldn't find a good mounting point for a front bumper lip. so unless you guys have suggestions, we may not pursue making a front bumper lip.

we're also considering a plenum cover made fairly thin and light to fit exactly over it using a couple of the factory holes. the engine bay seems a little naked w/out the factory cover. we can make it a solid piece or put vents in it, whatever you guys like.

also, for the Z pipe, we may be able to use a couple rubber elbows and a straight carbon pipe so let me investigate this further and get back to you guys.

Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

nuttyprof, very nice to meet you in person finally!

just to clarify on the different color carbon, it's actually carbon/kevlar that he's referring to. it's available in a variety of colors and combinations but because it's carbon/kevlar, it costs a lot more than pure carbon fiber. you can expect it to run about $75-150 more to use carbon/kevlar depending on the part. and if a carbon/kevlar part is being sold at a comparable price to carbon fiber, you should always confirm that it's carbon/kevlar and not carbon/nylon (dyed). carbon/nylon tends to fade after a while since it's dyed.

Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

Will a carbon fiber lip fit the NISMO (sedan) front bumper?

Sorry you mentioned 'factory bumper' so that makes me think you are talking about the stock bumper.....will it work for the NISMO bumper.

Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

You could attach it using the 10 screws that hold the factory bumper on at the bottom. The Top Secret C/F Diffuser I had on my 350Z attached only using those same holes. It was much larger than a normal lip and had no problems at all. I will add a pick of it....

Here is the underside, the lip for the G35 Sedan could be much smaller and less aggresive. Because of the lighter wieght, you will probably have to use something to secure it in the middle/topside.

Re: Suggestions/Poll on Carbon Fiber parts

I would def. be into buying the CF lip spoiler for my Sedan. I have the OEM bumper... I am not sure if that matters. Def. keep us updated on these products!

There are plenty of bolts under the front end that go all across it. Obviously you didn't look well. If Stillen can make a lip, you guys can.
