Damm nice drop, I should've went witht hose!! My front looks a lil higher than rear, that's a nice drop and very even from front to back. How you like those test pipe's? I am about to order them to go with my borla exhaust, hows the sound? Anything I should watch out for or not like? Thanks, Martin

I had a 350Z with stock gutted cats that was more intrusive than the sedan with the Helix test pipes and the G35 Coupe midpipe. Gotta love the sound of this motor, though.

Re: Pic of Sedan with 350 Z RS*R springs :)

I'm running them through the stock muffler since it can flow enough stock and is mor or less a muffled straight through design unlike the Coupe or Z design. I don't get the signiture resonance between 2500-3500rpms that made the the Z guys give up on non-resonated test pipes. It sounds just like my stock exhaust Z with gutted cats(close to resonated test pipes). It is like stock just louder across the rev range. It really screams at WOT. I am not sure how raspy it will be with a true free flow like the Borla or Greddy unit. Maybe you could do the Helix pipes 1st and do a comparo after adding the cat back.

Re: Pic of Sedan with 350 Z RS*R springs :)

why dont you change out your shocks to the stock Z shocks? you can probably pick them up for a couple hundred bucks.
i was thinking about getting them too, but i was afraid of having to deal with scratching too much, etc, etc.
whats your impression? so far so good?

GMonster

VEry nice drop

Looks like the front has dropped more than the rear - very nice! One question: are these flat springs or are they progressive like the eibach and tein springs?

Re: Pic of Sedan with 350 Z RS*R springs :)

The RSR 350Z spring is the closest spring you can buy to being a pure linear spring of all the lowering springs made for the Z and G. Eibachs, H&R, and Espelir are all very progressive by design, using several loops of closely spaced coils to acheive their progressiveness.

Here's a pic of what I mean.

Now take a look at the RSR 350Z springs, see the difference?

All Tein lowering springs ment for the Z and all G's, are progressive in the front and linear in the rear.

When someone ask's about the RSR's in comparison to Tein, I'm going to point out that the RSR's have superior spring rates for someone after performance, not to mention the fact that they do not compromise performance as progressive springs do. Notice the Teins are extreamly soft in the rear and that they transfer a lot of roll stiffness to the front as a result, this is a tuning method that will increase the amount of understeer the car already has. RSR makes a G35 coupe spring, that spring is progressive front and rear.

RSR 350Z spring rates
345/417 vs oem F+10% R+22%
Transfers +12% roll stiffness to rear

Tein H-tech G35 coupe & sedan
324/260 vs. oem F+ 5% R-22%
Transfers +27% roll stiffness to front

Tein S-tech G35 coupe & sedan
358/274 vs. oem R+14% R-18%
Transfers +32% roll stiffness to front

Now, compair with Tein's ment for the Z (front spring, like on the G35 applications are still progressive)

Tein S-tech 350z
386/402 F+23% R+16%
Transfers +7% roll stiffness to front

Tein H-tech 350z
358/375 F+14% R+11%
Transfers +3% rollstiffness to front

Re: Pic of Sedan with 350 Z RS*R springs :)

Kinda sucks that the majority of the performance minded springs are made for the 350Z specifically. There's really not a whole lot out there for the sedan owner who doesn't want more than a 1" drop. If RSR made some nice linear springs for the sedan with 345/417 spring rate and only dropped like 0.5" - 0.75" that would be ideal for someone like me.

Re: Pic of Sedan with 350 Z RS*R springs :)

I had an '03 Z and hated the "bounce" of the original shocks. I changed over to Nism o S Tunes and the bounce was diminished, but not 100% gone. The '04 G35 Sedan Sport shocks have no inherent bounce, so my first choice was to keep them. Tein S springs drop about the same as Z33 RS*Rs, so the longer shaft on the struts must be okay from a technical design standpoint. Real world testing is 100% thumbs up.
