Newb questions, but I tried searching "headlight adjustment" and "hood hits fender" with no helpful answers. I have an 03 Sedan, and I recently lowered the car and now my headlights need to be adjusted. I just spent 10 minutes or so with a flashlight trying to locate anything that resembled an adjustment screw but didn't see anything! Granted its almost 1:00am and I'm tired as hell... but I get wild hairs up my *** right before I hit the hay to work on random **** in my shop or on my car lol. Also, the car has all original paint, and clear carfax, but for some odd reason everytime I open the hood, the passenger side tip catches the fender and makes a nasty popping sound, which is also chewing up the paint. It almost seems like there is play in the bracket... hoping its a common problem and somebody will have the answer. Thanks guys.

Do you have HID's? If so they should be self leveling.
Headlight adjustment is not where you would expect it. Here's a snap from the service manual for '05/'06

to aline the hood is simple if ur a do-it-yourself type of person,
unscrew both bolts on each side of the hood, not to much but enough to have play,
keep closing and opening ur hood and adjusting lef,t right, up, down etc
like it? seems fine for u know? tighten the bolts and ur set
TA-DA! magic
good luck man!

Got it! I really think all that was needed was some sleep and then the all encompassing light of the sun! Now that I know where the adjustment is, I will wait til tonight to properly aim them.
As for the hood.... I am a d.i.y. kind of guy, the only weird thing is, the car has never been hit, all gaps are equal, the adjustment nuts have never been moved. I was just hoping that this might be a common problem that one of you guys would read and go "oh yea, those hinges wear out" or somthing simple like that. Anyway, I'll keep investigating. Thanks guys.

A lot of modern HIDs are self leveling. Are the G35's not? Christ that's unexpected.Originally Posted by 6spSEDANFTW!

your fine, its normal. have u ever heard of "never keep any door/hood/trunk open for a long time while one of the sides is on a floor jack"? doors trunks and hoods are hevy (even if the hood is aluminum) the hinges will bend over time, thats it Originally Posted by LS1Pariah

Yea, the same thing is happening to me. When i bought my 04 G35x in october, the hood was alligned perfectly. But, last week when i opened it for the first time in a while, it popped and the paint chipped off on the top corner by the driver side. Now its bent. Idk what happened Originally Posted by LS1Pariah

Not sure if its relevant anymore, but I'm searching the posts on the same topic (hood hinges).
Came back from the dealership today as I've got the same issue with my hood.
The Service Manager told me that this is a common/known problem and they see it a lot.
You can grease the hinges and that MAY help, but the best fix is to replace the actual hood hinge - once it is bent, it stays bent. But I think the fix requires removing the fender so you gotta be handy to do it yourself, or you gotta get the dealership to do it.
I've read some posts that say the dealer covered it under warranty and I've read some that say they paid for it.
Good luck!

I had the same exact hood issue and yeah, it's been discussed on here before, but because the search function sucks so bad, you weren't able to find it. Honestly, I sprayed my hinges with WD-40 about 3 years ago & the problem went away....it's definitely in need of some lube. Give that a whirl first.
