Before you get the spacer, make sure all the engine maintenance has been done. And in a couple years you will need new tires, don't forget about the cost of an oil change every 2-3 months, and the CEL might light up down the road. Just named a few.

input appreciated, but i'm still gonna mod
i'll start small, clear corners w/ LEDs and a 5/16" plenum spacer for now (i do have a tiny bit of cash)
for the record, i mostly wanna do performance stuff, but maybe some side sills after a summer of work
pop charger and Z tube r tight, but i think a plenum spacer is a better mod cuz u get a tiny bit of power and not just a sick sound
detailing cars sounds like an excellent source of income, thx wannabe

Don't know about the "make money" thing since it's been a while since I was getting summer jobs.

I'm 18 like Janik. Bought my car with my money. You have lots of time a head of you to mod so don't worry about getting it done quick. I don't tell my parents what I am doing with the car, either they won't notice or they will tell you it looks good. (unless it's a 5 foot wing) They won't make you return something you already installed.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Kid, you just started driving, and in a car that I couldn't afford until I was 30. My first car was an '87 Ford Escort hatchback with a 4-speed manual transmission and 112 HP. Enjoy what you have now, use your money to take girls out, and **** as many of 'em as you can while it's legal to do so.
Get awesome grades in school, get some college scholarships & grants & siht... college loans are a son of a bicth after you graduate.
Spending what little money you can come by on mods for your car is such a huge waste... I make over $38/hour before taxes now, I can afford any mods I want, but I still kick myself for not ******* more of those high school girls when I had the chance.

Way too funny, but you're on the right track. 155- enjoy your youth, be responsible, and don't get caught up in the whole "I've got to have this or I'm not cool" mindset. You have an awesome car, and the thousands you could spend modding it could be saved for way more practical uses; college, repairs(which you will have on an almost 7 year old car), insurance, and of course girls.
Good luck with your new baby, I've owned a bunch of different cars and the G is my all-time favorite. FTMFW!!!!!

Haha! Be careful with that my friend just got his house raided.. Cars no good to him now lol.. Anyways tell your parents the mods help with gas mileage and so on, most parents are oblivious and naive (most).
If you look on the internet you can get an idea of what kinda jobs teens get but there is actually a job market for us, lots of jobs like bustboy and stuff is more exclusive to our age group. Work at a carwash or go change oil their all easy jobs that teens are defienently used for commonly.

Seems like you gotta lot of different responses about your subject. My 2 cents would be it's totally up to you on what you want to do. If you want to mod performance wise, I say wheel and deal with forums with classifieds like this one, craigslist.com, auction sites. Some items like a intake tube off of a 350z hardly wear out so buying used is a smart thing to do. You get the same exact results without paying retail top dollar just because you wanted it "new."
First and foremost though, do an oil change and spark plugs, tranny flush and replace rear differential fluids because if they are old and you begin to rape your car a bit, something will go wrong or something might wear out enough for it to break on you sooner than it should.
But if you want affordable performance, stick with the basics: intake, nissan 350z intake tube, different y-pipe for exhaust, more free flow exhaust - you can sometimes drive behind dealerships and dumpsters yank thrown away exhaust pipes off a diesel truck because they sit at least 3" in diameter and have some shop weld them together to form the shape of your stock unit - now you have a bigger downpipe for your turbo setup later-later down the road. Sometimes you might find expensive performance tires, still with good tread sometimes behind a BMW or Mercedes dealership or tire shop - a lot better tire than what your car probably has right now, free just need mounting and balancing and now you have more grip on the track.
I hope I gave you some ideas now on where to go, it's all on whatyou want to do. Take caution when girping stuff out of dumpsters though, sometimes asking a mechanic to take old tires stacked up on their lot may save you a trip to juvy. Most of the time they wont care anyway but it's better than not asking and get caught red handed.
You have a nice car for being only 16. Take real good care not to wreck it, pick up a lot of fine bitches in it and good luck to whatever you do.

The Z-tube and Pop Charger are more than just sound mods. They're a great combo to go with the plenum spacer. And last time I checked, clear corners were not a performance mod (unless you count a racing stripe as a peformance mod). But I would say skip the spacer and clear corners and only get a Z-Tube/K&N filter. That car has 280 hp, which is plenty at your age. Use the money for maintenance. BTW, who's paying the insurance? I KNOW that's not going to be cheap.
