Went to the track again with my sedan...much happier now.

I went to the track once with my car stock except for an aftermarket resonator that was installed to make it somewhat louder and the Z-tube with a cheap fram filter. To my surprise I ran a silly 14.9@92mph and many 15.0@91-92mph. I wondered what was wrong with my car but couldn't figure it out.

Well last week I had my entire exhaust redone and took a look at the aftermarket resonator that was installed...the inside diameter was 1.75"! WTF?! The one I picked out wasn't like the one that was installed...crazy isht I tell ya.

Anyways...I went to the track again ( this time with the exhaust, stock cats and Plenum spacer ) and on the only run I was able to do I ran a 14.6@96mph. Not bad imo...but to bad I wasn't given another shot because the track closed. I calculated my times for the weather using the calculator in dragtimes.com and it came out to 14.4@97mph.

Assuming I could get it down to 14.5@96mph or so...is that okay for my mods?

Pretty decent considering your basicly stock w/ that huge arsed spacer.

Nice.

I'm going to the track this Sunday for a little competition. I was supposed to race my Mustang but i didn't get it finished in time. Fortunately it's bracket racing and i'm going to race my G35x as a replacement car. I hope i can be consistent in a field of manual trans, RWD high-HP cars

I think i'm gonna leave it in stock trim...with my tool box and full size spare in the trunk

I ran 14.6 past summer, with crap filled trunk, half tank of gas and about 32psi in each wheel, I was driving through states to get to the track so I wasn't going to lower the psi to 25, on stock 17's as well.....maybe this summer i'll prep better...

Also launched at around 3k rpm, it was my first time launching it, I would never do it just for the hell of it while driving on the street...and the car is stock

what is that supposed to mean. hes got a non-revup motor so the lower plenum is fine to use with his spacer. it will add HP for this guy. I myself added a nonrevup lower for the same reason. Sure the spacer and mrev2 make awesome power, but the spacer still works well with a nonrev lower.

anyways, good times and you should notice better and better times every trip to the track. i havent taken my g yet, but eventually ill take it.

I think Jeff is is stating that the spacer the OP has on his G is a bit overkill and that with just one little power modification, he's running pretty decent.

it's too bad you didn't get a few more runs with your new setup. you probably would be able to shave a one or two 1/10's off your 14.6.

last summer (27 Celsius air temp, moderate humid, 1000') near Vancouver i ran 14.3 @ 98.5 with a 2.1 @ 60' (uncorrected) with 1/2 tank. i weighed in at exactly 3600lbs with me (195lbs). i believe the corrected time was 14.1 @ 100 when i punched in the numbers to an online calculator. i imagine with your spacer & exhaust you should get close to my times, with corrected times.

Agreed assuming his 60 foot (which he didn't post) wasn't too stellar. I've run 14.3s@98mph with a Z-tube in my 03 5AT sedan, but the conditions were close to sea level. With the spacer, I've run 14.3 at almost 100mph, but the conditions were around 1300'. Last year I ran a 14.5@97mph on my 18s and in 2200' air I haven't been back since.

Note: 5/8" = 10/16"

Motordyne's best spacer for overall gains is 5/16".

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better

60ft were high 2.2's and temps were lower 80's.
