Why are the 25+ people acting like 17- people?

personally with me i never have to work if i don't wont to. But i would rather work my *** off and buy my own car. And people seem to not understand that a college education dose not make you smart, and some times wont get you a good job.

ps. My car is paid for.

OK here's my .02

DJ, if you want to be taken seriously and respected on here you have to present intelligent and logical posts. This kind of post just makes you look unintelligent and silly. Also, when you start calling people names and telling pinkii she needs to get laid, your immaturity shows through. This doesn't endear you to any of us who are older or make you cool. It makes us laugh at you remembering what we were like 20 years ago.

I'm sure you are a stand up guy. I wish I had a G when I was in my 20's, but I have one now and that's all that matters. Think about your future, not just the present. You'll be happy you did, trust me. And grow up a little bit, you'll like yourself a lot better, and the girls will notice the change. That's always a good thing.

BTW, a V1 is a radar dectector, has nothing to do with the G.

Peace.....

if you "young kids" didn't overextend your finances buying a car like a g, you'd be able afford those 5k mods that you bitch about, because you'd be saving that much in payments. you could get many of the same features from a car for 5k- than what you paid, and that 5k is clearly straining your budget, to the point that the biggest mod you can justify(according to your "mod phase goal sheet") is a cat back exhaust, which, just to give you a heads up, is not going to make any real difference in your cars numbers. what it seems is you're going to end up spending every last dime, like the 51.00 in your thin little wallet, on show mods, have no go, and no money to take care of the unexpected repairs that will inevitably come up, let alone the expected maintenance.

to sum up, go buy a maxima or an accord. for much less, you'll have an equally modded car, more money left over, and as an added bonus, you won't have to listen to us bitch at you for asking us questions which are already clearly posted in other threads.

This thread is kind of long so I didn't bother to read it. I assume we've covered the "You shouldn't have bought a G if you can't afford to mod it" argument by now?

I was going to make some smartass comment about the $3500 in mods you have listed, but I just say this. It's a lot more than most people have spent, and it's a lot more than most 16-23 year olds can afford, which I thought was your purpose in creating this thread.

If you want to save some money, ditch the pulleys. They're a complete waste of money and won't give you much if anything in return. And unless you plan on buying the cheapest tire possible, your wheels and tires are going to cost alot more than $800. A decent set of tires will run almost that much by themselves. If you can cancel your spacer order, you can get it about $25 cheaper from Riverside Infiniti, and that includes shipping. I paid $240 shipped for mine from them.

Search Youtube for spacer installs, there are a couple of them out there, but the instructions are really good, and it's just not that difficult. It just takes time and make sure you have an inch-pound torque wrench. And buy some throttle body cleaner and some lint free or microfiber cloths before you start. You might as well clean the throttle body while you've got it off.

And most importantly, and I mean this, it is critical that you put the coolant lines onto the Copper ISO unit BEFORE you put the upper plenum back on. They fit VERY snugly, and it's a real pain to get them on even without the plenum in the way. If the plenum is there, it's virtually impossible. The instructions don't make this very clear. Try putting a little liquid dish soap on the tube before sliding the coolant line over it. Believe me, it helps.

And once the plenum is on, getting the Copper ISO into position between the plenum and throttle body is kind of tight as well. It almost feels like it won't go, but it will. Since you also have to put a gasket in there, I would suggest putting the 2 upper bolts through the throttle body, then put your gasket over them, then put the Copper ISO on top of the gasket. THEN try to get it all into position against the plenum.

And a final suggestion. I don't know how tall you are (I'm about 6'1"), but jacking up the front of your car 3 or 4 inches (keep the tires on the ground) really helps with access. You won't be bending over so far the entire time. Yea, I know you're young, but backs are backs, and there's no point in stressing it when you don't have to.

Good luck. And sorry about being such a dick earlier.

i cut some of the quote out so it wont be as long, thanks for everything in that whole post, it was extremly helpful. and yeah im actually about 6'1" also. i never thought about that lol, and as for the 25$ cheaper part, i did order it from riverside infiniti, im not sure how you foound that, but maybe im guessing you got the basic plenum rather than the 5/16 ISO copper one, this was the best deal i can find, 269 with free shippig. but its too late now its already in the mail, thanks for the advice though. and its no problem, we all habve our days and our periods lol.

and as for the wheels, ive found a couple of used OEM Coupe Rays, for averege about 700$, without tires, my tires still have about 60% tread left, so i plan on just purchasing the rims and tpms. or maybe even trade my stock ones now for those with some compensation. not sure if this is a good idea since ive heard of rubbing due to staggering and stuff. but well cross that briudge when im outta school and im working more than 30 hours a week at my day job and more djing jobs so that i have money to blow on sensless ****. and just outta curiousty does anyone know off hand if the OEM Coupe Ray 19" rims are lighter or heavier than the stock 06 rims on a sedan?

and as for the plenums, i dont have a torque wrench, and im decent with my hands to sucefully install the pop charger with the z tube, so idk if i should do the spacers myself, is it worth taking it somwhere and getting it done, not sure how much itll cost (if you know or can estimate lemme know) or should i rent a torque wrench and do it myself, it looks a bit challenging, and remeber im 17 so idk.

and one last thing, now that ive gotten the popcharger w ztube and spacers, and coupe mid pipe and hks exhuast already on the list (although not gviing me much of any power) what is the next performance upgrade i should get, ive herd pulleys but now im seeing it isnt worth the money, so what is, ive searched the what mods i should buy officaial but havent foud much, im looking to mods under 500$ by peice, like the spacers, adding performance i can feel, and after i cant get, then that i can hear. if you have anything on your g from personal expierence let me know what will actually help my car out as far as performance.

thanks to all

Look at a few different types of tires also. Dont just look at sport/performance tires or you will be spending a grip (1000+) for 4 good ones with a lot LESS miles (a thread was started about this) so you will be replacing a few times a year. Be careful cleaning the throttle body, if you mess it up it is about a G to get it fixed at the dealership.

Tires are very important, do not skimp in that area. They affect your overall drive more than anything. Expect to pay 800-1200 for a good set of tires. As long as you dont drive like an idiot, they should last awhile. (I personally suggest the BFG KDWs)

I pm'ed Tony @ Riverside, he's a member here. He quoted me the $240, and it was the Copper ISO version, but prices may have gone up.

The spacer is not technically difficult, you just need to be careful and take your time. The most important thing is to not over-tighten the plenum bolts, or any of the bolts. 100 inch pounds is not very much force. The instructions have an alternate way to put them on, but you can also rent a torque wrench for a day. Or just buy one. Mine has more than paid for itself in the 8-10 years I've had it. And If you're going to do any of your own maintenance/repairs, get a bigger torquer too. I used it every time I put a wheel back on, and I re-torque if someone else had the wheels off (I don't trust mechanics to torque them correctly). If you can find someone to do the spacer cheap, it might be worth it, but I have no idea what that would cost.

Another cheap mod is a Rev-up Airbox. $50-$80 in the Marketplace (if you can find one) or about $100 from a dealer. You only need the back half.
