moving the pillars wouldn't effect the placement of the back seats just the length of the front doors.

How do you GET to the back seats? The reason the coupe has a longer door sill, is to allow room for the back seat passengers entry into the back. The sedan is gonna be a pain for folks to get in, assuming you change the seat for a movable jobbie. I'm not trying to take the jam out of your donut, just trying to understand exactly how you are going to do it. You said you were just going to mould up the back doors.

if people have been able to put coupe front seats in i could do that so it would be able to tilt forward and allow people to still get in and have that sedan leg room. well molding the rear door was an idea to seal the gap and have it seamless all the way through it would still have a window that rolls down and everything. but i haven't thought about the trim around the windows yet still don't know what to do there. i am going to have to take into account every detail. but i should be able to pull it off. just don't know when i will have the time or money.

unique? yes. good idea? not so much. Honestly... like people have said, if you have the money and want to invest in it, go ahead. But it's much more practically putting that cash into FI, suspension, bbk, wheels, etc. OR buy a coupe and start from there. Just doesn't seem practically to me and a waste of money. Just my 2 cents. But if you do it, power to you

I can understand doing something like the RX8 doing the rear suicide doors and possibly doing a door handle delete but what you suggesting is ludicrous .

Let me preface by saying, its your money, time, and car. Do what you want with each of those things.

What I'm struggling to understand is why you would want to invest so much time x money when you could put it to better use.

From what you said, you want a car with the roof line of a sedan, interior arrangement of a sedan, body profile of a sedan, but the useful rear doors welded shut? Am I missing something?

BTW, I thought the S550 2-door looked butt ugly. I'm not attacking you or anything, but like, why?

Use the money to go FI and fully hook up the car.
Spend your time with women.

How hard would it be to move my pillar up and add an extra door to my coupe. I could be the worlds first 4 door coupe.
