If I found a wrecked G sedan, from 03.5 or high would I be able to get it painted and swap it directly for my trunk lid? I have a doggy door and I want a clean trunk with just the fuji.

I know I would be without a button but my keys can still open it. Maybe wire something up too?

I am going to start hunting around for some wrecked Gs in my area. I am out to find 05 tails lights (yeah right) and a trunk that isn't demo'd

Let me know if you guys know of anything or if it will fit!

04 no button or doggy door. I think it was 05+ that had the button

 

doggy door has button inside the door handle right?

04 no button......05, the button relocated to left of trunk lid.......but it is a direct swap onto your sedan. infact...all 2003-2006 trunks are interchangeable.

So how do you open the 04? Just the key fob can open it?

the 03.5 - 04.5 sedans have the keyfob to open the trunk, as well as a trunk open button located right next to the VDC switch in side the cabin

 

Would it be a bad idea to rely purely on my fob?

 

03.0's do not have the button located next to the VDC switch (I know you said 03.5 G Sedan..just stating facts for 03.0). I installed that switch as an after kit I got a long time ago from infinitihelp.com. I don't think they offer it anymore but you could try a dealer.

I did the trunk swap and use my keyfob and switch all the time. I have no issues with that setup.

 

^i think the 03.0 had the button inside the doggy door right? Kinda like the Beamer/lexus style? i know there wasnt one next to the VDC button.

You are correct, the doggy door does have a button just under the "Infiniti" lettering on the doggy door.

 

Yep I have the button in the handle of the doggy door. Good to know this will work, going to be tough to find a trunk though!

 

I found mine at a wrecking yard. You will most likely find parts vs a whole wrecked car. I paid $100 for the lid with lights on it...sold the lights so it didn't cost me much at all

The hardest thing is running the wires through the lid but even thats not hard. Good luck

I still dig the doggy door, I just don't like the infiniti in the handle. I want just a fuji and nothing else!

I have been considering 350gt Badges but I doubt I'll do it, I would just feel weird and I would hate to have to explain why it has skyline badges 5x a day.
