Re: MY BRAKES!

Mine too, does it when rolling to slow down and having the foot 1/4 down on the brake pedal, it starts screetching than I have to pump my brakes, so embarrasing LOL.... Im about to take it back to the dealer, some people said there is abnormal wear and will replace them for free. Try it out..

Re: MY BRAKES!

Geez, I hope that's not starting to appear here, another forum I visit has started doing that for "non-paying" members, hope that's not what this is too!

Re: MY BRAKES!

the first time i took my car in for brake squealing, they replaced the rears with this rear brake kit and the noises stopped. i don't know if that kit is still available now that the 3yr/36k mi warranty is around or if that warranty includes 2004 models.

as for replacing them, i see different stories. some dealers do it no questions asked and some do it with exceptions, claiming that they have to send in the used pads/rotors to the company as proof that they showed early wear and needed replacement. so if they are not worn down to their standards, then you have to wait, even if the noises are there.

also, if you do a search in the coupe forum, there are threads talking about brake noises and how to remedy it without taking it to the dealer. something about cleaning the rotors. good luck.

Re: MY BRAKES!

Those with the problems, can you tell if it's fronts or rears?
I was looking at replacing the front pads with EBC greens to improve the brake dust & quick wear on the fronts.

Re: MY BRAKES!

g35Christine,
I took mine in for sqeaking brakes, they squeaked when backing up, they replaced the rear pads and "shimmed" the front pads, seems to have stopped the squeak, mine is an early '04.

Re: MY BRAKES!

I hear the front ones also. Its when your lightly on the break pedal just rolling and slowing down it starts up then gets loud. Really annoying!! Im going tomorrow for it.

Re: MY BRAKES!

mine were definitely rear. so embarrassing when backing up!

illg35... maybe if you drove with your hood up, then the noises would go away. lol, kidding. i like your sig. it's actually one of the few full-car sigs that are of moderate size.

inTgr8r... here is an super long (and super old) thread on EBC greenstuff brake pads that i had bookmarked from when i was thinking of going aftermarket, too.

Re: MY BRAKES!

There are TSBs for both front (squeal or squeak) and rear brake noise.

Check the linkbelow and search for the keyword "brake". This is for the rear brake. https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=

Here's the TSB for front brake: http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB03-069.htm
