Have you guys ever heard a car when parked and cooling off make all kinks of "plinking" noises from the underside??

Does anyone's G do that??

Mine does when i shut it down, but the other day I also noticed it does this when running. I will be in a drivethru and hear it echo off the wall. It sounds like the same "plink....(5 second pause) plink, plink"

Quick visual shows nothing out of the ordinary.

Weather has changed. Winter is gone and now it's getting into the 70's and higher. Maybe that has something to do with it

 

this is just physics. you are hearing the metal contracting as it cools.

 

Perfectly normal, all of the cars I have ever owned have done this. You'll get used to it.

 

Cats get really hot, metal expands then contracts when you shut down. Normal.

 

Yeah i know it's normal.

WHat i find strange is that it does it all the time..even with the car idling in park or creeping in traffic. I've never experienced that before. Usually i hear it in other cars after shutting down.

I just found it odd that's all.

 

I have only noticed it when im stopped and shut down.

 

While its idling does seem strange, I too only notice it on shutdown, but then again maybe I'm just not listening well enough
