Battery tester tool - pretty neat...
Hi...
I got this battery tester tool this weekend at wallyworld. It's pretty neat. No need to open hood. Just plug it into the cigarette lighter.
My battery is about 4.5 yrs and I know it'll need changing soon. Ran the battery tester tool and my battery is operating at (I would say) about 60 to 65% capacity (give or take). So I'll have a little more time before I swap it.
Tested it on my other car (Sentra) and that only has about 50% left on a 4+ year old battery.
Looks like I'll be shopping for a new battery soon. Should I go OEM for the G? How much does the OEMs cost anyway?

The percentage is just my estimation based on the bar. It also has light indicators to tell you the condition of your battery (green, amber, red). Of course no one knows how long the other 50% will last. Basically, it's a cheap little gadget which takes the guessing out of "hmm...my battery is 4 yrs old, will it make it through next week".
By seeing the indicators and seeing my battery still have a good 60 to 65% charge, I would say yes it'll make it through next week or perhaps the next couple months (cross my fingers). But it's a good gadget to run it every week or so. It not only tests your battery, it can also test your charging system (alternator). Hey for $15 bucks, what you expect.

I wouldn't, infiniti charges like $140 or some crazy like that. Be better to wait for sams club/costco/wal mart to have a sale on optima red tops or something. They occasionally blow those out for like $150 or less.
