Is the hood of these cars aluminum, fiberglass or steel usually?

My car I know was smashed up a couple times before i bought it..not sure how bad exactly, but I know I've had to seal a few seams and have a little body work to do..

The reason for this post is that my hood seems to be non magnetic, but feels like metal to me and I cannot figure out if its aluminum or what and if they are all aluminum, then why would anyone go to carbon fiber, its already really light..

its made out of aluminum. Yeah going to a carbon fiber hood will not save much weight.

Yes, it's aluminum. Most go CF for the look, for venting or to fit a top mount supercharger (stillen).

Aluminum rusts

It's called aluminum oxide, and it looks like a white powdery substance on the surface. Let it rust long enough and it will corrode just like steel.

Takes time and a pretty powerful catalyst such as acid.
