fading underside trim
fading underside trim
The black trim under my red sedan is fading. Any warranty info on this? I haven't talk with my dealer yet, figured you SoCal boys might have more experience with this.

Re: fading underside trim
You can always get the lower trim painted....

Re: fading underside trim
All you've got to do is put some 303 or something else like it on the trim. If you want to go cheap and use Armor All, that will work fine but you'll have to do it more often.

Re: fading underside trim
I've had my G since October, and drive it every day, my black on my car still looks great, and all's I've done is keep it clean. I wonder if you have gone to a car wash very much, and perhaps had the "wax" done along with the wash. But they are right, the Mother's Back to Black works really good, I have used it on a previous car that needed some minor help!

Re: fading underside trim
Assuming you haven't put something on the trim (wax, ...), it should not appear discolored or be fading. I think you might have a warranty issue to discuss with your dealer.
It's becoming very rare, but it is possible that a plastics manufacturer can make a defective batch of plastics (with bad or no UV inhibitor). You used to see this all the time back in the 80's on trim parts, interior and exterior.
