Hey everyone! Here is my problem: In one year, I will have to get rid of my G35 due to financial reasons . Trust me, I am dreading the day. But, I financed $2000 of negative equity from my old BMW 330Ci into this lease, therefore making it very difficult to sell and break even. I am wondering if anyone has turned in their leased car early and how much Infiniti charges you to do this. I have had the car for one excellent year now so next year would make two years on a five year lease. (Uhh the 5 year lease was a huge mistake anyway) Thanks for any help!!

 

What is the milage ?? This will have a big effect on value.
One way to do it is to find a buyer for the car.
There is usually an early buyout penalty of about one months payment. But if you can get close to the buyout $, this is usually the best way to minimize your loss.

I did this once with a 1.5 yr old VW Passat with 22,000 km, cost me a total of $400 to get out.

There are other methods like Leasebusters etc. but they don't provide the service for nothing.

Like inTgr8r, I was going to suggest a lease transfer arrangement. There are a number of web based businesses, http://www.takemypayments.com/, http://www.leasetrading.com/, and http://www.leasetrader.com/. You advertise your car and your leaseholder determines if it will transfer the lease to the interested party (based on credit worthiness, their lease transfer policies, etc.).

Because you financed negative equity you will have to compensate any interested party for the higher than normal terms of your lease. (Otherwise, they will just go elsewhere to find the same car for less $s.) Most people who are highly motivated to get out of their leases end up offering cash with the car. How much cash it would take to move your car is a difficult question to answer. It will depend on how good your lease terms were to begin with and the value of the $2000 of negative equity you financed.

PORTLAND OREGON - ALSO WHEN THE NEW G35 COMES OUT LATER THIS YEAR, "MORE HORSEPOWER AND A FEW MORE AMMENITIES" - YOUR CARS VALUE "WILL" DEPRECIATE...EVEN THOUGH YOU SAY YOUR NOT LOOKING TO GET RID OF IT FOR ANOTHER YEAR, THE REALITY IS, THE SOONER THE BETTER - EVEN MORE SO WITH YOUR NEGATIVE EQUITY...(I'VE BEEN IN THE RETAIL SIDE OF THE AUTO BUSINESS FOR 10 YEARS)
