Exhaust options for the sedan?
Exhaust options for the sedan?
Like the topic says what options are out there for the sedan. How much do they cost? Anything about the ones that are out there that you dont like? Maybe too loud? Basically what do you want from an exhaust system. Reason for me asking is today I went to a pretty known company to get measurements for an exhaust system on my 350Z, I mentioned to them that on a G35 sedan an exhaust gets really good results and that there are not that many out there for the sedan vs the 350Z or G35C. I told him that I also have a G35 sedan at home and if he wanted me to bring that one I could. So this saturday I am going back there with the G35 sedan and he will take a look at it and take measurements. I don't read the G35 forums much so I dont really know what is out there and what the owners what. Hopefully I can get some feed back, and hopefully I can gather enough interest and show it to them so they can go ahead and develope one for the sedan.

Boost,
I can't say enough good things about my Stillen cat-back dual exhaust! Especially with my 6MT -- this thing howls at WOT, but is "adult-like" at normal cruise/ throttle, etc.
Stillen has been making a lot of Nissan perf-parts for a long time. I'm a believer in their stuff...

Re: Exhaust options for the sedan?
i haven't heard the stillen one yet, and i'm sure it's awesome. i've heard the borla dual on geobau's, and it sounds mean. i'm a little lazy now, but there is a thread in this forum about the borla and prices. happy modding.
haha, ok, i got over the lazy bug. this is the borla thread that i was talking about.

I have the NFC Y pipe and HKS muffler, and to me the sound and power is great, not too noticable until you hit it and it really puts you in your seat.

Re: Exhaust options for the sedan?
if you don't mind the sound, the easiest, cheapest option to increase a little bit, but make it louder, just get a magnaflow resonator. about $60-$90 installed. i've got the blitz nur-spec rear section (i like the "ricey" look), but that muffler was just too quiet (again not "ricey" enough). so i got the magnaflow resonator on, and it sounds wonderful! after looking at the parasitic stock resonator, it's amazing that thing was even on a sport sedan - there are more curves than eva herzigova. just my ricey opinion.

it's very restrictive, but I think the cats are where its really the most restrictive. With high flow cat's or test pipe's and an exhaust which im doing, i heard it transforms everything about the car.

Re: Exhaust options for the sedan?
I'm trying to figure out who is well known in the exhaust aftermarket that does not make a 350Z exhaust. Only company that comes to mind is Dc Sports, but they've already R&D's a sedan true dual (Injen is in process with one as well). Who is this well known company?
Who ever it is, I'd like to see them do a copy of the Nismo 350Z system adapted for the sedan. 76.3mm pipe diameter just like the Nismo, include a copy of Jic's Y-pipe and have 2 mid pipe option's. One for the "I don't want it loud" crowd and one for the the rest of us (I don't mean anything by that, I know a lot of sedan owner's have not bought a exhaust out of noise concerns).
If the company only want's to do a true dual, see if they can undercut Stillen's price while copying the design.

Re: Exhaust options for the sedan?
My question is: Why hasn't Stromung made an Exhaust for the G35 Sedan? They are BIG with the Bimmer and Subaru crew, but they got REALLY into the Sentras (I had a Stromung Catback on my B15 Sentra SE (SR20 rules!
) I'm somewhat surprised they haven't made one.
