Driving home from a friends house on a 2 lane highway, I was in the slow lane (unusual for my driving) and another person was in the passing lane in front of me and all the sudden I see him slam on his brakes and by time I looked over and reacted the deer was crossing the line into my lane. I slammed on my brakes and turned to the shoulder and my rear driver side door (sedan) hit his head. He bounced off spun around and put random scratches down my door (crazy that fur can scratch paint). So any way he left me with a nice dimple on my door right in front and above the handle where the body makes that curve below the window.

Where my question/help is, is can that be pushed back out? were talking about something an inch wide and 3-4 inches long and barley dimpled like you can see it when light hits it and you can barley feel it.

 

reading your story I was imagining this great amount of damage, your car sliding sideways, glass busting out everywhere..and hopefully a dead deer...but it all ended up being that it ran into your door, barely made a dent and the deer got away??

To answer your question, you would have to take off the door panel and see if you can get to that dent.. but most likely you would have to pound it out some, fill it and paint it..

 

Thanks and sorry to dissapoint. If you knew how I take care of my car even a dent is horrible LOL. And the fact the deer hit and ran pissed me off to...I don't get a deer all last season and lastnight I hit one.

Oh I understand. I would be pissed too!!
The one time I hit a deer, I killed it...which made oh so much happier..Luckily that was a 92 ford tempo, and even in 98, the parts were really cheap.

 

Apparently you havent had a stupid deer hit a car of yours yet...

 

any body shop will tell you they need to see it in order to give you an accurate estimate.

To all the other replies, thank you, I will look into the dent removal place. I have a friend who her dad does body work in his garage so I am going to take it to him and see if I can get it for free.99. I just wanted to make sure that you could pop out a dent on that particular area of the car before I waste an hours drive.

Had I of had the Brembos I wouldn't be in this spot. Time to upgrade to drilled and slotted I guess.

 

^just because you have brembos and cross drilled doesn't mean you'll stop that much shorter... these brakes systems are basically less prone to fading during multiple high panic stops, and will maintain lower brake operating temperatures.

 

Went to the place and they said the dent can't be removed that I have to buy A new door because even if they pushed it out from the rear there would still be a crease...

So much for "Excellent Condition" on KBB when I some day sell lol.

 

I once said the same thing when someone posted about hitting a cat and damaging their new bumper and everyone jumped on me. Makes me wonder what would happen if someone hit a person
