22inches on a g35 sedan
hi all
i'm just bought my g35 2wks ago. 2005 g35 sedan. i was looking at a friend of mine that had 20" inch rims on his but he has it lowered with camber kit installed and he has no gap in the wheel well.
i dont want a gap in my wheel well so i was wondering if i left it stock and slapped some 22" on the car with 30 series tires would this make the gap go away and would it slowly tear up my stock suspension? also would it mess up the speedometer reading or do any other damage that wouldnt be worth it?

No, you will still have a gap. I have well over 1" of gap (read ~2"s) on the front with 20's. So, 22" (effectively 1" up top) will not completely close that, plus you are talking about going to a lower series as well, which will further prevent you from closing that gap. 22's are not a good choice for our car. For the few 03-06 Sedan's that I've seen with it, it did not do the car justice at all. The biggest that I've seen that still looked good was 21's and that was with a coupe front end retrofit on the sedan.
im going to stick with 20" rims then. i can get some Sevas S55 staggered rims (20x8.5) and (20x10) for $900 brand new.
now i have to focus on getting rid of the gap which would probably be lowering and camber kit installation best route?

A few members have had Sevas break into a few pieces upon impact with minor things like small animals (Racoon I think).

generally, 20s tops for these cars. however 22s can be done right, if lowered correctly.. ive seen a couple on this forum.. there is an 07? sedan that is nice as hell!!
^^^07+ sedans take better to 22's than 06- Our fender wells just aren't built big enough. Although I think that is a good think. I miss the days when 18's w/ low profile tires were perfect. Now we have to pay more for rubber and metal. Just my thinking.
