my wheel delima on the X
I have a set of 350z track wheels, they are staggered 8/8.5
i've been thinking about this for a while, my intentions were to find someone with track wheels and swap them to make a non-staggered set. Well the chances are slim and i'm about to give up on it.
option 1. run what i got now, get the 245/45/18 and be done with it. looks a little boring and bland. Can't rotate tires so tires might have shorter life. and still look for the swap.
option 2. paint the wheels ( some type of darker color), run the 245/45/18 and be done with it. Again i loose the ablity to rotate tires, paint/powder coat might chip.
Option 3. sell and find some already black wheels, non staggered and be happy.
Obviously these 3 options are more then what i listed. I'm not looking for nice expensive wheels, i'll most likely run some $800 wheels, rota or enkei. I'm not going to care for ray's or works or anything. I like 18's for size and comfort plus tires are a lot cheaper then 19's. The cost of option 2 + wheels can equal price of some enkei's or another type of wheel. I've looked at the cost of powdercoating and its about $100-150 per wheel. the wheels are worth least $400-500, roughly $800-900. Tirerack has a LOT of options for wheels in that range.

I'm happy with the wheels. They are a lot better then stock. I dont care for the whole flush and staggered looked but thats how they came when i bought them. The tires are just about done. Now its time to explore my options.
I really want to run same sizes wheels, primary so i can rotate wheels for even thread wear. I like black wheels for some reason. I might of fallen into that bandwagon or such. I heart black wheels.

I'm no sure about 350z offsets, but if lets say you base it on Coupe 19" Rays offsets which is +30 in the front and +33 in the rear. You can still rotate the tires from front to back by compensating with a 5mm wheel spacers at the rear. Since your contact patch for all four tires is the same, due to the fact that you are using the same tire size for all four wheels. The fact that fronts are 8.0 and rears are 8.5, it does not make any difference.

I had all 4 track front track wheels on my maxima. If you want 4 fronts, you will have no trouble swapping a Z owner for his fronts for your rears. That's what I did.

You won't find any lighter forged 18s w/o going to aftermarket and spending quite a bit more. Some Enkeis come to mind but that's about it. Plus oem tracks have that oem modded look that I like. And you won't find the 5x100/4x100 crowd running your wheels.

yeah i say stick with #3 especially with your x, dont think you would want to run with a staggered setup on an AWD. well good luck with everything and let us know which route you pick.

Here's my vote, and it's actually what I did...
Find/buy another complete set of Z track wheels. Sell the 4 x fronts to a Maxima owner. That leaves you with 4 x 18x8.5 +30. Powdercoat them black.
That's what I did. In the end, I only have $300 invested in my wheels and $225 of that was for the powder coating.
Problem solved.

cheapest coating i can find my in area was $360 but some people have mentioned $300, just haven't found a place.
a hard thing to do is to FIND someone with track wheels. If i find them they want insane money like $1200 shipped.

Tough choices. I love those wheels, so I'd keep 'em if I had 'em. I'd run 225/45 front and 255/40 rear and screw the rotating. It would only be a summer setup for me anyway. I agree that the offset is a little restrictive, but I've decided to put 245/45 all around on my Coupe 18's. I'd like it better if they were +35 or +38 instead of +30.
But you don't seem entirely happy with them, so maybe selling them is the way to go. Have you considered getting a set of Coupe 18's or Sedan Sport 18's and painting them?

$230 each is a decent price. But are they REAL ray's or look a likes.

I've seen some sites list similiar things before and they turned out to be replica's

as of right now i've elected to stick with the track wheels in stock form. i found a local when ONE rear rim and i'll be picking it up.
I figure with that rear rim, my options are still the same, actually opened it up a little more. I have A. find another rear rim , B. find someone to trade me rears for my fronts and then i have a SPARE WHEEL C. buy from site.
I've also been looking at a set of LE37's but i've found them to look very similiar to what my tracks will look if i painted them.
