trunk latch not catching always

trunk latch not catching always

just started doing this for some reason. sometimes when i close the trunk it will not catch and lock. i have to slam it again and sometimes for the 3rd time. it seems like it start doing these after i pulled that T handle on the top of the lid, but i put it back in back to normal.

Try lubricating the trunk latch.

You can try that, but it may not hold. Might need a graphite lube or white lithium grease for long term.

But i'd try WD-40 first
