5/16" motordyne spacer....failing on me?

i popped my hood to show my cousin my new spacer install since he hasnt seen it. its been installed now for about a month and a half. everything set and done, correctly, working well, good power increase, and as i showed him, i noticed that on the of the spacer, it was shredding (i think) and was turning gold. check the picture for a more exact idea of whats going on. im not sure whats going on with it, wether this is normal or not.

my fear is that it is creating a leakage from the plenums and losing power, and even worse possibly ruining my engine.

i know thiers a rep from motordyne somewhere on here, please let me know whats going on and that my g is gonna be ok, and that this is normal.

all feedback is helpful!

thanks

not sure if this will work...

Well I can't see the picks because of our media filter from work so can't make a judgment.
The guy to talk to would be Tony from MotorDyne.
He is the man.
Helped me out with all my ques for the install.

It doesn't look like a big problem. Definitely talk to Tony, you can PM him on here, look for Hydrazine.

That's not a problem. Its just the adhesive. The adhesive is made from a viscous synthetic oil. Its the same synthetic oil used as a viscosity modifier in synthetic motor oil formulations.

If you like you can clean it with just about any hydrocarbon based solvent.

It won't leak or do anything.

Yes, I'm sure.

Take a close look at the pictures of the spacers on our website. It has a grit blast finish. They are all made that way.

Nothing is wearing off. The grit blast finish actually increases the strength of the aluminum.

Mine looks just like that. I saw it before but was sure it was just adhesive, which turns out to be true. Car runs just like it did before, so no worries.

C'mon man. Tony made the damn thing didn't he? If you've read through this site, you'd understand how knowledgeable Tony is when it comes to the products he manufactures for our cars.

If he says it, believe it!! I understand your concern and admire your passion for your car. I think you can relax on this issue though. I remember when you had problems with the installation of the spacer. Must be your Achilles heel.

If it was a leak, wouldn't the debris be sucked into the manifold instead of oozing out? Unless you have some kind of forced induction you didn't tell us about...
