Nah that wasn't me. I don't go to seaside lol. I don't have a spoiler either. I had a m3 lip spoiler, but that has been taken off now.

I was selling the car fully modded for 16k. Now I am selling for 13k even completly stock with the tinted windows and painted mirror bases. Great deal since it's been EXTREMLY well taken care of with all records and paperwork. Just tough selling a car in these times. Hopefully soon though. I can't take much more with it. I need my m3 lol I already have a few m3's lined up ready to go so we'll see

As long as you are painting the grille you might as well have an emblem delete… I know where you can get one (the original; by caskyline the guy that started the emblem delete craze - done with plastic, not bondo or fiberglass) its 03-04 grille – PM me if you want details…

13K with or without the nismo? Still a good price, people are missing out on a good deal I bought mine bone stock like 4 months ago for 15K plus fees, but I wanted black, silver would of been my next choice though I put 2500 down 359 a month for 5 yrs, 46K miles, how many miles does yours have? I heard the M3s are not very reliable and that the repairs are very expensive too many guys have tricked out m3s u don't see too many Sedans modded out on the streets, I like being unique, what made u so crazy about the M to downgrade ur G to stock and try to sell it?

13k no nismo. I would let it go for 14k with it if someone was interested. Mine has 64k on the clock and it's a 2003, so low miles for an 03.

M3's are actually very. very. reliable. Trust me, done more research that one can imagine lol. My buddy across the street owns one as well as a couple other of my friends and they have had flawless years of ownership. I'm getting one with a CPO (100,000miles/6 year) warranty so repairs (if any) won't tear my wallet in half. Sure, it gets expensive if things do go wrong and warranty is out. But the e46 m3 has been my dream car since I was a kid. I'm willing to make the sacrifice. I don't plan on doing too many engine mods. Just simple exhaust and such. Nothing crazy within the first year of ownership. But you know that can change instatly lol. You only find problems with the m's that have been in auction usually. They are the ones that been neglected and treated like a beater car. I'm buying from a private owner who is on my m3forum. True car enthusiast who takes care of the car like I do/would. All paperwork... all that.

What made me so crazy about the m? Let me ask you this... have you ever ridden in one or driven one? Better yet... hear one in person? Once you do, get back to me. you'll know why I'm so crazy about it lol. It's just truely a well thought out beautiful machine with every single area touched and over analized to perfection. It's really an amazing machine in every aspect. Not to mention, the looks are phenominal. The new e9x m3's are a whole different story. They got a WHOLE lotta work to compete with the e46, i'll tell you that.

I decided to sell stock because I was trying to sell modded since November. Plus, I want to get as much dough as I can for the m3. Went over the numbers and parting out the car was the smartest idea. Plus, it opened up my buyers market much more. Got a lot more interest. Sure modded g sedans are rare, but a stock m3 is even more rare. I see wayyyyy too many g sedans. Plus, I've had the g for 3 years. Need to move on.

how come you don't like the new M3s? I think they look better, I heard one of those and is a beast, the regular E46 is nice but it just looks like any of your average beemers from the back except for the thicker wheel wells my 03 has even lower miles only 49K I don't think I'll ever get tired of it B.M.W= Big Money Waste lol Kidding!

I have an 03 BS Sedan w/ glossy painted grille. It's very easy to do, and IMO, looks good.

Sand down the grill VERY thoroughly with 400 grit sandpaper. Spray a base coat, then 4 coats of gloss black, and 3 coats of clear coat. Total cost $15, and total time: 2 hours.

There are several good DIYs on this forum.

nah new m3's look awful. completly took away from the edge of what the m badge stands for. sounds beastly since it's a v8. But it's not the same. e46's look nothing like a normal 3 series when you see them side to side in person. completly different in and out.

It's dark Brilliant Silver, does that count?

Here's my DG.

Duplicolor Black Bumper Paint
Duplicolor Clear Coat (grille only, not logo)

Going to redo it (the grille), not happy with the pebbly horizontal surfaces (was going for a semi-matte look there). The vertical surfaces are perfectly smooth.

I think the painted grille and headlights (yes, I know, I'm doing it soon!) look the best on the lighter colored cars like IP, BS, and DG.

Don't want to knock the M3 because it's an awesome car, and I'd love to have one some day, but they are definitely NOT very reliable. Your friend may have had good luck, but the overall numbers show him to be an anomaly, not the norm. Consumer Reports among others show them to be below average for reliability and they're ridiculously expensive to get repaired. And I'm very surprised you're getting a CPO M3 because I thought BMW has stopped selling them as CPO's because they were losing money on them big time. Why? Too many repairs.

Finally, thanks lexusk8. I appreciate everyones input as well. I just needed to actually see what it would look like on a non-aero 03. I won't be painting my headlights so it could end up looking exactly like lexusk8's. However, I think that a black grille would be too polar amongst the oem stuff....what if I go a dark grey...almost and not quite black?

I really love the look of headlights and the grille painted black. I also decided to paint the door trim molding at the same time. Its all fairly easy to do, just time consuming.

I simply went to our local paint supply shop and bought a quart of PPG Super black, single stage. I used a cheap mini sprayer I bought from a hardware store.

Here are some pics of mine. Kind of redundant since there are others posted. I just thought that I'd share my 2 cents.

Its fairly easy to do. And its very permanent. I used the information posted here. https://g35driver.com/forums/lightin...eadlights.html The only other thing I have to add to the information posted, is that you will want to have a sharp knife handy. When you pull the lights apart the adhesive is very stretchy (Think Pizza cheeze) so if you don't cut it, it will stretch and get everywhere.
