Updated Drag Strip Times

Well, here are the details...I am still smiling from ear to ear btw as I type this:

Conditions and constants:
1. It was 90 F when I got there and still 84 F when I left an hr and 45 mins later.
2. I got there with a hair over a 1/2 a tank of Gas (believe me I cursed myself on Wednesday when I filled up not realizing the awful error I had just committed) and left with a hair under 1/2 a tanks.
3. The car, with me in it, weighed in at 3548 on the scale.
4. I had the car gutted.
5. Front Tire PSI was 40 and Rear tire PSI was 35 on my famous 215/55 16 Blizzak Track Tire & Rim combo.
6. After the TS Reflash there is no such thing as leaving your car in drive and racing...NEVER EVER...the car is half the animal it can be in D...
7. It takes *****, but you can cross the traps in 3 and shift into 4 as you do it and not hit the TS increased Rev Limiter/Redline...This took some practice...and *****...lol
8. I went 3 for 3 beating both of the Nissan 350 Z 6 speeds there...one Blue and one Orange (See Pic)...both had 14K + for miles so they were more than broken in...and both were bone stock...BONE STOCK. The last run of the night saw me cut a .520 (.500 is perfect) light to beat the Orange one [After I taugh the kid how to launch his car lol...his 60 ft times went from 2.6+ to 2.3 after a quick lesson from me ;-) ] It was the best race I have ever been involved in...I had him out of the hole, through 2nd and then that damn car just started pulling like an animal in 3rd and I litterally beat him by the width of my tire I think...0.0062 to be exact...talk about a photo finish huh!!!! 6.2 thousandths lol
9. The G-Tech is pretty damn accurate!!!
10. The whole race is won and lost in the first 60 Ft and unfortunately I have not figured out how to consistantly run a 2.1+ 60' Time never mind a 2.0 b/c wiht the right temperature conditions outside and the MPH I am running now this car will either run 14.0-14.2 at like 104 or 13.8 at 102 b/c if I can trap over 100 mph 5 times out of 8 than this car has 13s in it if I can figure out how to get this damn thing to launch harder....

Here was my best run of the night (Unfortunately no 13.9s or 14.0 or 14.1s, but look at the speeds...I am now officially part of the Century Club with a 4 door Automatic Sedan G35 baby...woohooooooooooooooooooo)

60 Ft.......2.254 (I was running 2.1s the last time)
330'.........6.159 (I was running 6.0s last time)
1/8 Mi......9.329 (I was running 9.2s last time)
MPH........77.71 (this is higher by a 1/2 mph)
1000'........12.046 (I was running 11.9s last time)
1/4 Mi.......14.314 (14.29 was my best time last time but it was only 55 F outside compared to 85-90F today)
MPH..........99.14 on this run (100.2 -100.3+ on 5 out of the 8 runs I ran tonight which is just INSANE compared to the 95-96.4 I was running before...that's 5 mph more than last time, but not a better time b/c the damn 60' times sucked)

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

Here is the 350Z that gave me the best race of the night...don't get me wrong I got my a$$ kicked by a Ford SVT Lightning twice and some Chevy Nova wiht a blower, but other than that I ate cars alive all night with the exception of this Z. Both Z drivers were really nice and great to talk cars with too which is what it's all about right.

Right On, Bossho!

You're carrying the flag for our 4 Door "Z"s - and we are mighty proud. Not bad at all for a slightly modded "near luxury" family sedan, eh??

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

Thanks Guys...I was launching at anywhere from 1500 to 2000...but like I said I never got the 2.1 or 2.2 60' times I needed for a 14.0 of 14.1 last night...it just wasn't in the cards.

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

Man Boss, great great runs!!! I think my car is also very quick because ive driven way faster cars, I have auto and alwasy beat coupes with my Injen intake only!! I am installing Borla Exhuast, XERD test Pipe's UR Pulley's and 7 wire grounding kit monday starting with a baseline dyno and after. I cant wait to run after that, I def. need new rims and tires alot smaller, any suggestions? I wanna start running my car and hopefully if I get good i'll be within the same region as you. Thanks, Martin! Represent those sedans... =)

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

The 16" Fox Five Rims with some BFG Drag Radials and Dunlop SP 8000s or something nice and cheap up front...that's what I amd doing when I wear out my winter tires...then I'll just get another set of winters. :-) Good luck on Monday!

Ed.. Palmdale is 2600' above sea level. And temps were in the high 90's, getting down to 87 at the end of the night (945pm).

My best run was 15.1xx (pfft!!)

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

Nice numbers at this point Boss, and they will get better with denser air and more mods. Good Luck!

Re: Updated Drag Strip Times

Nice trap speeds! You need a set of drag radials and you'll be clicking off 13 sec et's consistently.
