Wow.

What limitations does this card have.

This is better than any incentive I've heard of....

details.

For instance, if I use the card to buy 2,000 worth of stuff (and pay it off monthly of course), I can get $100 per month back ? Sounds too good to be true. Must mean for gas only...even then, that's a sweet deal.
yeah, it's a promotion Citibank has with Shell. It used to be Chase/Shell. Chase stopped the promotion and Citibank took over. It gives back 5% all Shell gas and 1% on all other purchases.
I am not sure it's only a so cal promotion or national's.

Got it...I have one from AAA that gives me 2% back on any gas I buy. Me and the wife use it for gas only. However, the Priceblub Amex that gives you 1% back on 'everything' looks pretty tempting. I wonder if they'll let you pay your mortgage/property taxes with that thing...

i happened to be at the mercedes dealership (my old car) when the regional rep was there. i was asking him how necessary it was to use 91 octane, as recommended, in my car. he said that i should just use 87, as it was the same quality as the 91, in our region. he said that when mercedes was in colorado testing the gas for the different octanes, that the 87 was a sufficient octane to run the car. he said that this does vary by region. he also said the gas at costco was crap and that the premium franchises carried a better product.

Most V-power and 93 at BP or Mobil, sometimes 87.

There's only 2 refineries on the island of Oahu, Chevron and Tesoro. I have friends that work at both of them. They're both engineers at the refinery. The guy that works at Tesoro told us that Costco buys their gas from both the refineries and it's basically the same gas but Chevron adds Techron to it. But he said Techron is just a good marketing ploy. It's benefits are miniscule. He also said Costco takes a hit when it sells gas, it's just their way of drawing more business to the store. That's how they can sell it cheaper than every place else.

I dont like BP, i seem to eat thru their 93 gas like if theres no tomorrow. When i go exxon or mobil im fine, and i usually use my Speedpass neway. Im like very **** when it comes to wat type of gas my car takes, so i still w/ super prenium, no premium or regular at all.

The cheapest 92 or 93 octane I can find. All my cars have run great on that.. I was haffner's here in the boston area.

I did see a 20/20 special about how very few cars need premium. Of course the people they talked to were pumping gas into corollas saying that the premium keeps the engine cleaner...

Then the news anchor said that very few cars on the road require it. A few acuras, corvette, etc... models like that. Someone said to me see.. you do not need it. I said I go by compression ratio.

Now my 4 runner v6 with 10:1 compression ratio is fine on 87 octane. Yet the engine is not as high revving as the VQ. I also said that the vq is 10.3:1 compression raito which means I would not tempt fate using anything less than 91. I would be interested to see how 89 octane runs in it... but for about 10 cents savings of gallon of gas, I do not think I want to try it out.

Kind of like saying what kind of aspirin do you use. As long as it is a name brand and it has an octane rating of 91, it makes no difference to me. The important thing to me is the entrance/exit of the station, and the wait. I am going to start a new thread on what I consider the most important thing in buying gas.
