Mistake on the header's, I ordered them a while ago but then decided not tog et them but just ordered the XERD header's to go with the test pipes for this weekend =) Yes i have no cat's and yes I dont care lol, im just havin fun. I got my inspection done at the place I went to, its a Nissan service shop with a performance shop next door, someone int he guys family owns smithtown nissan so he said dont worry =) No names! Anyway, here are the video clips rite now!!

The exhuast is much louder and meaner sounding in person, the sound quality isnt great and doesnt give the real deep tone and screaming sound while reving! Enjoy =)
Next week im going for a baseline dyno and tomorrow i'll have inside video's of the car in motion and outside going down the street. it started raining tonight and hopefully will clear up by tomorrow. Martin

Heh heh ... Martin's one G Freak alright. I'm glad he's having such a blast mod'n his G, because that's what it's all about. A good set of Dyno numbers will just be icing on the cake! Rock on Martin!

Do you have an AT? If so, how did they do that dyno run? Did they just run it up to a certain speed and floor it or did they use MM? The most accurate way (from my experience) is to get it in 4th (1:1) in MM and run it to redline. Also, doesn't the T/C throw off the max torque number? I'd see if you can get it with less smoothing on your next run.

BTW - I noticed they claim "Builders of the world's fastest 350z" That's a pretty bold claim! I'd assume "fastest" would mean top speed and wasn't that Jun Z that crashed going close to 200 mph?

Why do most dyno graphs start plotting at ~3k rpms and not at 1k or the lowest rpms so the car won't stall in the selected gear?

Thanks guys, I wanted to know the same thing eldy. If some people can chime in like gurgen or others, why is it my first dyno run where they when from stop to redline I got 239 hp and 244 lb ft. of torque at the wheels and this starts at 3500k and ends at 5700k?? And go to their website, they have a 1400 hp Z that reuns 8s and 9's and goes way over 200 mph!!

Huh, you ordered Xerd headers? Xerd headers are long tube headers that eliminate the cats, and,..........cat pipes.

I couldn't find that 1400hp z on the site, do you have a direct link? there's no way its a VQ then.

 

Yeah, that's the draw for the Xerd header, the fact that they are long tube headers. They replace the cat's and of course test pipes. If you run a search on the Xerd header on my350z.com you'll quickly get confirmation, as the arguement against no cat's alway's comes up.

Have the headers been shipped from the place you bought them or just ordered from Xerd and not shipped yet? I dunno, theirs cause for them to do something for you. Like taking the test pipes back.

Gsedan, what would you do, take the test pipes off? Or get the full length headers? I talked tot he guy and he said he stopped the order and for me to let him know what I want now, he didn't realize also!! Also for the 1400 hp 350z, they dyno'd it amonth ago and it was at 1200 hp on this post card that he had made up, and for 2 weeks he worked ont he engine more, and dyno'd it at 1400 hp, I saw it!! I take it the shop won't take back the test pipes, or are they two different places? If not I'd see if I could score some Nismo headers off ebay for $800 or lower or get the BRM Nismo copies, $650 in mild steel $795 in stainless.

I'm interested in what 350EVO is doing on their own for headers. They ran Nismo's, then Xerd, now their making their own, shorties or long tubes. Still in R&D however.
