Red face What size Rims for a 2006 G35x Sedan

Hi guys I just bought a 2006 G35x Sedan. It comes with factory 18" rims and the tires are 3.5" from rim edge to wheel edge. I want to get rims but i'm not sure if I should go with 19 (which won't be much of a difference unless i get tires with a lower profile) or if I should push the envelope and go with 20" and worry about wheel rub, flat tires and tire knots? What should I do????
If possible please respond thanks

There are tons of threads on wheel options so just spend some more time looking around. If nothing else, check out the pictures posted in the media share. Also, I didn't realize any X's came with 18's from the factory. I will probably end up putting 18's on mine, but I would go with 19's if I had the cash.

If they are the 7-spoke rims they are 17s, you should be able to tell by reading the side of the tire

Depends on what YOU want to do.

You can get 20's on the car...but how much rub you get all depends on what offset and backspacing you get.

How are your roads?

You will also need to keep in mind tire size front and rear needs to have the same overall diameter not to mess with the AWD system. There are a few internet calculators out there to help with this. Plug in the stock 235/55/17 on one side, and then plug in 19" and 20" tire sizes on the other side to figure out the stock diameter

Stock tire size is 215/55-17, not 235/55-17. You may have confused one of the alternate sizes you can run which is 235/50-17. Stock diameter is 26.3".

Mine are 18's with 245/45/18 rubber. I prefer the rubber with a little more "meat" as well as the cushier ride. This combination fills the wheel wells really nicely.

You are correct. I meant to say 215/55/17. Slip of the finger i guess

This is what I'm running on my Coupe 18's. Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports in 245/45-18 all around. Had them for about 400 miles and they've been superb. I'm definitely on the fat tire team too.

I think 19's are the best for looks, however you won't get near as many options as you would with 18's. Truthfully I have 18's on mine but wished I had looked a little harder and longer and found some 19's. If you're on a budget, 19's are more expensive. If you want to be hip, 20's would be killer, just suffer some ride quality.

I'm also running 245 45 18s on 350z anniversary rims. Fills up the wells nicely with a good compromise between performance and comfort.
