Play BlackBerry 8350i(or other mp3) through factory radio?
I've got a 03 sedan w/factory Bose sound. I'd like to be able to connect and play my BlackBerry 8350i, or other mp3 player, through the factory radio, which unfortunately doesn't have an AUX input.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this without too much labor would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest the PAC audio AUX input adapter. This allows you to install a small audio jack to plug anything in to it. There are a few write ups and DIY's that are floating around. It's pretty fun to do the install.
if you want to do it wirelessly, try the Jabra SP700. It's a bluetooth speakerphone that transmits the audio from your phone (whether it be the covnersation or music) to your stereo.
Like said above. The pac unit is ideal since you can use any device and it improves the sound over the normal operation of the radio and anyone can install it will a little patience.

Does your '03 have a SAT button? The early '03 radios did not have one but I've read on forums that you can still use the PAC box which shows up as additional CD changers.

I recently installed the PAC module in my '03 sedan with a 2004 head unit and LOVE it. It has two inputs - I tucked one set up inputs away for later use and connected one to an ipod cable which plugs into my IPOD. Also wired the ipod cable into a 12V source so it powers my iPOD at the same time.

Brian,
no SAT button. I have an early 03... I guess I'll have to do some research on the PAC to see how compatible it is with my configuration. Perhaps the bluetooth maybe the way to go if the PAC doesn't work.
rorywass,
What model AXXESS did you install? Do you know if it'll work on a early 03 w/o SAT input?

I would have to say that cassette tape adapter is the best, cheap, 0-work required method.Radio transmitters have terrible quality and constantly produce static and fuzz, and are much more expensive than the cassette tape adapter. As far as quality of sound goes, I am satisfied with the sound that the cassette makes; there is absolutely no static or fuzz transmitted through to your car speakers. Another advantage to having the cassette tape adapter is that you are able to listen to any mp3 player or anything with a standard headphone jack. The only downside to this piece of fried gold is that it does not charge your mp3 or phone, so you would have to use a separate phone charger or mp3 charger to charge your audio device. Now if you do have unlimited amounts of money and do not care about the cost, then you must definitely buy an iPod adapter, which will charge your iPod as well as allow you to listen to it. So in conclusion I have compiled this list of Pros and Cons about the cassette tape adapter:
Tape Cassette Adapter
Pros:
1. Compatibility
2. Sound Quality
3. Consistency In Sound Quality
4. Very Low Price
5. ABSOLUTELY No Work Required
6. Availability (Wal-Mart has these for 10 bucks)
Cons
1. May look a little tacky to some
2. Does not charge audio device
Have a nice day!
