Well thats your first problem! Dont be lazy! Especially after a detail! Any wax they put on your car is gone now from those shi**y chemicals they use at touchless car washes!

As everyone else has said, clay bar will remove it in a second.

Next time, dont take the easy way out!

((sorry, automatic car washes make me very angry lol))

Car wash.... at a gas station... with hoses... and gas.... sounds like a winning combo to me. With all kidding aside, that sucks, but you should have been washing it by hand. Some of the cheap chemicals that they use in those car washes destroy clear coats. I know that this is not the direct case but could be amn issue. Most people who don't give a rats *** about their car as long as there is not trash on their car use those. People who love their cars and appearance, take the time to clean their loved ones. I spend about 4-6 hours on the outside of my car every 2-3 weeks.

I just give it a hand wash every couple of days or whenever it gets dusty.

same here! even if i take it to the car wash, i give them the MEguiars car wash to use and then have them dry the car off with my own towels and car tire shine.

Clay bar should do the trick man - I've had a smaller yet similar issue in the past and I washed the car with soap, clayed it, then washed it with water, used some wax and it was good to go :_)

Kinda the same thing happened to my mom's Sienna. Noted some paint overspray on the lower body panel after a body shop repair from an accident, so I went ahead and used the clay bar after the wash, and the clay bar lifted the paint off after a few rubs. Like many have said here, clay bar should work in this situation. No worries man.

Haha, every couple of days? You must have a lot of time on your hands. Mine is lucky to get a wash every couple of weeks and that's only if it's not supposed to rain. Seems like it rains the day after I wash my car every single time, without fail.

I wash mine (by hand)1-2 times a week. I haven't seen rain in over a month, but it gets so dang dusty way too fast. Also if i drive outside the city at night the bugs splatter on quickly. I havent done a full clay, polish and seal yet but i want to. I have no place that is shaded, but i am in the market for a house and as soon as i have a garage i will spend a weekend getting my G as pristine as possible.

That sucks man but i bet you'll get her back into shape. I hate it when anything happens to my car.

I did the full clay, polish, seal thing by hand a few weeks ago and it about killed me. Ended up taking me pretty much an entire day and I was crazy sore for a few days afterwards. I definitely need to invest in a polisher for next time. The car looked sweet for a couple days until it rained just enough to get it dirty.

I'm just giving you a hard time man. How do you wash your car at 11:00? Setup lights or something?

Turn the porch lights on, and have at it. Pull it in my garage when its done and dry it off. Wipe my wheels down with some quick detailer and im good to go. Maybe polish my exhaust if it needs it. im not too crazy. Only takes me 45 mins-1 hour to clean my car. If i ahve a spare half hour or something, ill vaccum it out/wipe down the dash quick.

The thing is, i maintain the cars shine with washes and stuff every few days so i dont need to spend a lot of time working dirt out etc. It takes me a LONG time if its somebody elses car and they dont clean it regularly.

Thats the key IMO. Keep it up and it doesnt take as long to do it.

seen it before, and a clay bar does work great for removal. your car could be gone for a while though, some paints are easier to remove than others, I once spent 7 hours on a red Dodge Ram with black paint specks from the repainting of an apartment complex, it was hell. considering its free, hopefully he won't put it on the backburner

Would you come to Austin for a quick wash? We need the rain desperately

Another thing you might try is a product called "Oops", it's made to remove latex paint (if that's what it is) and it's real gentle. You may have to re-wax when your done, but it will take it off. I'll bet the sealant protected it however.

Haha yeah I saw that you guys are in a record setting drought right now. I hope it rains down there purely for selfish reasons. My friends and I were planning on floating one of the rivers around the end of August. Hopefully they won't be all dried up.
