Has anyone every considered doing one of these some where in the middle of the USA where we could all plausibly drive to, run at a track and do drag racing as well?

I know the SHO Registry used to do these when I had my SHO years ago...the turnout was pretty good as far as I know and everyone had a ball doing car show, Racing, 1/4 mi stuff during the day and then ripping it up at night talking Car Smack, having affaris (just kidding), etc...let me know what you all think

There was talk at one time about a mega meet but I have not heard much since. If you do a search on mega meet-you will find it in the off topic section.

The only problem is, while it may be 4 hours from LA, it happens to be 37+ hours from anywhere on the east coast. Even the midwest takes ~28 hours to get there. Don't even think about how long it takes our Canadian neighbors! There was a poll regarding location, I believe, and most had voted the Indy/Chicago area.

If you want to hit up a big meet in Vegas, go sign up for the Vegas Invasion II. If THAT'S a success, then maybe we'll consider putting together a national one. The fact that we can barely drag a dozen SoCal people as far as NV doesn't bode well for having a megameet [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

can we get group buy on trailering/flatbedding the cars out there.

We can then fly in, play around and then ship the cars back. Anybody got any ideas how much that costs?

Chicago is actually what I was thinking or Indiana...Remember there needs to be three things where this happens if we are going to have it happen:

1. Beer, Food, and Fun!
2. A race Track that we can do runs on with either real drivers if we choose or by ourselves.
3. A 1/4 Mi Drag Strip.

It would have to be mid country to keep the drive time down to under a day so you could theoretically leave on Wed Night or Thursday Morning and be there by Thursday night or Friday Mid day...then Rock and Roll till say Sunday and then either Leave Sunday night or Monday morning...for some a 1/2 week off will do for others a week off will do. This is just a quick example.

this is easily a 2 month setup time..and since this is a national thing..it would have to be at least 100 cars.. to make this worth while..

I was thinking..like texas..somewhere in the middle..and this is easily more than a weekend thing..

Well, we all either have to set up a time to brainstorm either via Conference call...which I could set up in my office I believe or via the web..in eihter case we need people to come up with sites that have what I mentioned and then we can rock and roll from there on picking a spot. There can only be so many spots b/t MA/FL and CA/WA that have all the things I mentioned before...I think 100 cars is more than attainable...especially if you count all the people who will be semi local to whereever the spot is.

I think G35 is too popular to require a huge meet.
